So... I was at the library today, and I had the Hunger Games books on hold. The librarian starts talking about the movie, and I tell her that I have seen it twice. She says that they are going to make the other two books into movies as well, because Hunger Games did so well in theaters.

Are you happy to hear this, or not? Do you think this is bogus, or legit? Discuss!

The Hunger Games is part one.
Catching Fire is part two.
Part one of Mocking Jay is part three.
Part two of Mocking Jay is part four.

That is all I have learned.

ProGamer135 : It's unknown if there's going to be two parts for Mockingjay though.

I'm really excited that there's going to be sequels to the movie. I've read the whole series and it was awesome. If Catching Fire came out, I would want to watch it so badly, so I would be first in line to see it really fast.

Yes, Mocking Jay is going to be two parts, just like the Twilight Saga and Harry Potter. That much I do know. As for the books... I am reading the Kane Chronicles right now. As soon as I finish the book I am on, (about to be done), I will be reading Hunger Games. I would read it now, but I don't like switching books all the time, you know what I mean?

The second movie is already in the making, so it's not bogus or anything. I'm glad they're going to be making the whole series into movies, but I hope they fix the things they messed up on in the first movie. The first movie wasn't bad by any means. I think that movie was one of the best book-to-film movies I've seen. But there were a couple of really important plot points that were completely left out of the movie.

Spoilers below

Peeta didn't lose his leg in the movie like he was supposed to. Madge was never even introduced. Also, Haymitch just didn't seem drunk enough.

Apart from those few issues, the movie was very good. I'm excited to see the other movies.

Yup, sequel's will be made and I for one, am really looking forward to seeing them. I think The Hunger Games was a pretty good adaptation of the book and I'm eager to see if the next three movie's do their respective book's justice as well.

Catching Fire has a tentative release date of November 22nd, 2013.

Fishergirl7 :
XxChaosxX :

I have not read the books yet... I just got done reading another book by Rick Riordan... the Kane Chonicals, Book 2. Anyway... I will probably start reading Hunger Games today.

I do have one question though: How graphic is the book? And is the book one of those books that somebody has to force you to put down so you can get some rest, like the Harry Potter Books seem to be?

Well, I'm a slow reader. It took me two months to finish the book Watership Down, which is around 400 pages. That being said, I finished all three of the Hunger Games books in less than a week. So I would have to say that they are damn near impossible to put down.

thing1 : Trust me, I got addicted to the book. It took me 3-5 days to finish it. I got addicted to the series, but I stopped at Mockingjay. I was reading another series called Conspiracy 365. I read the Hunger Games series again after I finished the Conspiracy 365 series.

starwars293: How long did it take you to finish the series? if I wasn't so active on Vizzed, I would have finished Hunger Games in 2 days. i started on it yesterday, and I am on the part where she runs from the fire.

I loved the books and the movie, I am looking forward to the next movie, but with the change in director I'm a little scared. Hopefully they don't butcher the series.

I finished the book in a few hours. I couldn't put it down and stayed up until four in the morning to finish it. They're really good.

Fishergirl7: yeah. I just finished Hunger Games this morning. I read about 2 hours on Thursday, maybe 1 on Friday, and then about 3 on Saturday, and finished it up this morning in about an hour and a half... that mean 7 1/2 hours total of reading. The book did leave out some stuff, though. Like Peeta loosing his leg, and all the romance that went on in the rock cave, and that the wolves were actually the tributes.

thing1 : Was the book still good though? I don't think the creators of the movie wanted to put it in the movie because I think they wanted it to be a bit shorter then the movie.

starwars293 : Yeah, I still enjoyed the book. I think they did a pretty good job of pretty damn accurate from book to movie. Only thing I am not happy with is the they did not emphasize the "romance" going on between Peeta and Katniss, Peeta loosing his leg (everybody has a problem with that), the "recap" of the games (not to disappointed about that, though), and how the scene with the wolves start, and the each wolf is supposed to be a mutation of all the dead tributes. Those are the only problems I have with the movie. And actually... Hunger Games is the first time I have movie to book, not book to movie.
