Certain areas of this game can't be emulated with the Plugin at the moment, below are 3 save states which will load on the other side of the doors which crash the Plugin.

What you'll do after downloading it is right click the file and select Copy.

You'll paste it in your Plugin Data folder. That's accessed from this file path on your computer:

Windows 8, 7, Vista - C:ProgramDataVizzedVizzedRgrPluginUser-"your id number"VBASaves

Windows XP - C:Documents and SettingsAll UsersApplication DataVizzedVizzedRgrPluginUser-"your id number"VBASaves

Or go to:

Start Menu > All Programs > Vizzed Retro Game Room > Open Plugin Data Folder > User-"your id number" > VBA > Saves.

In the Saves folder is where you'll paste the file; if it asks you to "confirm replacing file" choose yes.

Then load up the game and the save state with F4, but don't go back through that door or it will freeze still.

Somewhere along the line I must have lost my .sav file. Usually I can just press f4 to load to the save state, but I can only wait until it goes to the regular save menu. Do you have the .sav file that goes along with this .sgm file?

MrHiu2 : All you would have to do is load that save state then save from the menu and it will create a .sav file. Loading the native save won't allow you to pass that level though.

Hello,
Hopefully I'm at the right place, but I'm having trouble with the dark maze download. I followed the instructions, downloaded the file, pasted it in my saves file, loaded the state but I end up at the chest where I get the lantern. Could someone help me with this problem?

blujayde01 : Hmm.. do this test for me: check that folder for any existing save states for the game and delete them, then paste that downloaded state into the folder.

Does that still load you at the wrong spot?

After I deleted the saved states and started the game, my game files were completely erased.

blujayde01 : That doesn't seem right, did the sgm file paste in the VBA saves folder when you selected paste?

I have 4 files for the game: Here is my trash bin with 2 sav files and 1 sgm. SGM is the first crash download file available, and the other two sav files, well, I'm not 100% percent sure but I believe one is the original game file and the other, the updated save file after playing the first crash downloaded file.


The other is the downloaded dark maze file in my saves folder. I did the process again and I get the same results.

blujayde01 : I'm trying to sort this out, so, out of curiosity, do you have other save files in that folder?

Thank you tRIUNE, I just fixed my problem.What I did was erase every sgm and sav file for the Zelda game. I began a new game file, downloaded and paste the dark maze file, again. It works now.

tRIUNE : I think I figured it out. Does the game start all the way from the beginning?

Twin974 : The savestates won't, they'll load at a specific spot in the game to avoid the crashing.
