Hello, I was trying to play Sonic the Hedgehog as well as other Sonic games from the Sega Genesis and all of them had their screen black. I cannot play these games with the screen being black an I really want to play them.

Do you know why the screen is black and if so, do you know how I can get it off so I can play the Sonic games?

Thanks.

When you get a black screen with the Sega games, it means your computer isn't automatically switching to 16-bit graphics, so you will have to do it manually.

tRIUNE : I know you have answered this question numerous times in the staff PM box, but I can't find one of those for the links on how to do this.

Yeah to play Sega games with this problem you'll just switch your monitor to 16 bit.

The procedure for this varies depending on which version of Windows you use.

Huh, that is weird, because I can play Nintendo 64 games just fine without switching something manually. Maybe there is something special with the Sega that I have to deal with.

Yes this is because of the Genesis emulator which the RGR Plugin is built on - it will automatically switch your monitor to 16 bit upon boot, but that was changed with a recent update of the Plugin, so you'll have to do it manually now.

Do you know exactly how I can do it manually? It might seem like a stupid question, but I am new to this sort of thing.

Yes! It does seem to work. Thanks for that. Hopefully it will remain working. If not, then I will find a way hopefully.
