Nintendo have released it's lifetime sales figures for its 3 most recent systems, the WII, DS and 3DS.  The data was released as part of its financial results for the last fiscal year.  Keeping in mind some of the WII games listed are bundled with official hardware (eg WII fit plus requires the WII fit board)

As you can see the highest grossing title is Wii Sports (79.60 million) Its amazing to think that these are massive sales figures if the games were sold even for $1 a pop, but as we all know they arnt, try $50- $90 each. 

Yes, the bundles games must be taken as a separate category, so to speak.

I'm disappointed Skyward Sword did poorly in comparison to many. The franchise hasn't really been improving in sales since OoT, but this is seems low, I hope it doesn't die after Zelda Wii U.

Ocarina of Time 3D is my favorite off of this list..such a great rerelease.

Light Knight :

As someone who has played every Zelda game in the series, Skyward Sword really disappointed me. The biggest turn off was any notion of forced motion.

If the WiiU one gets away from motion controls (I don't know much about the WiiU as I'm not getting it.) then sales will be much higher. People don't want to swing around. They want to sit back, relax, and press buttons.

I'm surprised that  Wii Sports has sold that many copies, mainly because it comes with the Wii system itself.

legacyme3 : I was off with my earlier statement. Although it sold a little less that other Wii titles, it is the fastest selling Zelda game so far.

I actually really enjoyed the motion controls. The very creative gameplay found in Zelda games was brought over to the new remote; it was definitely the best use of the Wii controls I have ever experienced.

I do find it a little easy, more so than Twilight Princess, so that is my only significant criticism.
