The Video Game Room is finally up, but in a beta state.

It'll eventually contain every video game ever made, but for now it contains almost every game for the following systems: Sega Dreamcast, Sony Playstation, Xbox 360, Nintendo Wii and Playstation 3. More systems will be added in time.

It'll also eventually contain a ton of awesome features, but for not it basically contains the same features the Retro Game Room except 1 added feature which is Video Game Articles. Basically any recent thread in the new 'Video Game Articles' forum will appear on the index of the Video Game Room. If you switch systems, than articles attached to that system appear first; same applies for Video Game Reviews (but with video game reviews, it'll show reviews made by all users while for articles, it only shows ones made by staff since currently they're the only people who can make articles in the articles forum).

What this means for everyone is that you can now officially review games for newer systems, rate games for newer systems, comment on games for newer systems, etc.

Yay, the feature is now launched!
Now we have the video games of new systems, and we have the wii system which is my favorite system of all.
Soon, vizzed will be the ultimate gaming site after this is finished!
I have been waiting for this ever since I noticed it, and it is now launched, plus it needs lots of people for each position if we want this done.

Looks just as great as I expected it to be. It's pretty far along for a beta, and one can see how much time you've dedicated to this. This will definitely bring loads of people in off search engines. Wonderful job, David.

To the above poster, DS games won't be happening any time soon. DS games are still being manufactured, and we wouldn't want to tick off Nintendo. Something like that could cause Nintendo to demand we take down all their games. Unless you mean adding DS game profiles to the VGR, which will happen as soon as content is added for the systems we're starting with.

Soon maybe can you put Gamecube and DS games on here? If you can I would be SO HAPPY

That's awesome, David, good job before taking a break seriously. However, I have one question to ask you: even if it's just a beta, do you think I can start making some walkthroughs of some games released on those systems? Or do I have to wait?

One benefit that we have here is the ability to see what other sites did, what worked and what didn't, what looks clean verses what looks cluttered and an unmanageable, before the same thing happens here.

For instance: cheat codes. While people want to get in, get noticed, or at least make sure that a code is there, it frustrates me to see 10 articles that all say the exact same thing, ore one with one code, another with 3 codes, another with a repeat of one code from each of the other articles, and then a bunch of codes that don't actually work.


Is the data being submitted going to be screened for duplicate and incorrect info (when easily possible) before it's applied?

Yeh, well I noticed a few things.
1st to do with the player numbers, now there can be up to 3 numbers:
offline campaign.
online campaign.
online matches.
You cant actually put all that information in the description field.
also, i found when i uploaded images for them that they worked but then when i clicked view thumb it said file not found, i still got the vizz and everything though which is weird.
Also, you cant actually rate them without making a review.
Obviously its early days just now but im just letting you know

Since all cheats are posted in one box so long as the staff (& trusted users) uploading the cheats look it should be fine, that is annoying like.  Whats more annoying is searching for cheats, clicking a result and finding they have none.

So your telling me that we can now start reviewing games on the Wii, Xbox, & PS3?

CobraGuy : Staff will take care of adding content. This way duplicate content doesn't get added and only accurate and valuable content gets added.

thenumberone : It's not ready for people to be adding stuff yet. Like I said, it's still beta which basically means it's far from finished. Think of it as just a sneak peak as to what's to come, don't treat it as if it's a finished product.

I decided to make the default order of the games within the Video Game Room release date.

This sounds pretty cool, and will undoubtedly bring lots of new traffic in, but I have a suggestion. In order to avoid having a lot of frustrated new members, I think you should put a disclaimer or notice on the front page stating that the newer systems (DS, Wii, Xbox, etc.) are not playable. Right now I forsee a lot of very confused, very annoyed people trying desperately to find the link to play these games.

Im a little surprised that i havent found any games missing tbh, i dont know how you managed to get them all and put in the makers.

Based on several of the posts in this thread, I don't think some people realize fully the difference between the new game room and the RGR.

The Video game room is not a place where you will be able to play these games on Vizzed. Think of it more as your one stop for any information regarding games on those systems.

not 100% true, since i saw one review with a link to a download of the game =p

I just remembered a question i was going to ask when i noticed a review on PShome (which isnt technically a game).
Are you going to include download only games or will it be disk based ones only?
