In over three years of lurking here, this is one of my favorite posts, even if I didn't get to see Ispy's post.
I am a devout Muslim and I don't particularly have anything against gays. My religion preaches against homosexuality, but it also preaches against intolerance too. Most muslims see homophobia as a greater sin than homosexuality it's self, and may other religions also preach the same thing. I have never understood the religious arguments against gay marriages, as they're always prejudice.

Fist of all I don't mind homosexuality at all, and who the (excuse my language) f*** are you to tell me that I can't marry a guy I love, if two straight people who hate each other can marry the why not two homosexuals who do.

I'm against homosexuality, completely and wholy. I'm a follower of the one true God, and He said don't be homosexual. Therefore, I'm not. Very simple, isn't it. I know many people don't agree with me, and people will probably hate me for saying this. I'd rather be hated here on earth, than be thrown into Hell. Not a hard choice, really.

mrfe : From my perspective, that of a Lesbian member of the board, I must say, that honestly almost felt as offensive as iSPYi's copypaste post earlier here. In all seriousness, why not listen to the words another one of your religious figures, Jesus, spoke, specifically "Love thy neighbor"? He to you is the "Son of God", and as such, his words should be God's words, wouldn't it? I have never herd someone say that Jesus said something against homosexuality, only the Bible, which in many ways contradicts "Love they neighbor".

God defines marriage as something sacred between a man and a woman.

Love thy neighbor, yes.  Love everyone.
This does not mean you should pretend their sins do not exist.  Love your neighbor enough to keep them from going astray and living a sinful lifestyle.  Love your neighbors as fellow human beings.  Love them enough to tell them when they are in the wrong.

There is a difference between love for man (mankind and the human species).... and love for a spouse (who should be of the opposite gender).

There is brotherly love, and the love for a spouse.
Just because a person lives in sin, does not mean you should hate the sinner.
There is a difference between hating sin, and hating a sinner.  True Christians can distinguish the difference.  They love all people, and simply do not love the sin.

To conclude: homosexuality is sinful.  Gay marriage is thus also sinful.
Hate on me as you will, and you will only then end up proving my point about the difference between hating something you disagree with, and hating the person behind that opinion.  

Oh, and Jesus and the Word are the same thing.  So if you've seen it in the Bible, you've seen it in Jesus' Words.  They are one and the same. " In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God and the Word was God."

MegaRevolution1 : I don't hate the person, but I despise the deeds. That's me, plain and honest. I'm not going to hate you, and I won't force my beliefs on you, but at least realize that I do love my neighbor. I interpret that to mean 'love everyone'. Therefore, I love everyone. I love the spammers, I love the quality posters. That doesn't mean I'm gonna go out and marry a dude, brotherly love. While I won't marry you, I love you like a sibling. That's why I debate with you. I don't want to see anyone go to hell. If I didn't love you like a sibling, I'd just say 'forget you, I've got better things to do with my time'.
