Honestly, if people want to be gay and get married, that's fine by me, let them do what they want. I questioned my sexuality once before, even...I know that I'm straight now, though. I'm Christian, and I believe being homosexual is sort of sinful (but not really that huge of a deal, really.), but I'm pretty much on the fence for gay marriage. If they want to, go ahead, I'll respect that, but I still believe it's wrong, if only a little. Please don't send a bunch of hate replies :/. I feel like people that express resistance against gay marriage are always hated on, and they can't say their opinions. Not that I'm against it. Lol, this post was pretty awkward...

If you would've asked me this say, 4 years ago, I would've said, "Gay marriage? Haha that's gay!" (I never made sense back in the day), now I'm asking, why not? I mean when has crime been love? I am struggling to find any reason that gay marriage would be illegal ,other than for religious purposes (amendment 1 and 14 anyone?) the 14th amendment, in short:
"an amendment to the U.S. constitution, ratified in 1868, defining national citizenship and forbidding the states to restrict the basic rights of citizens or other persons."  Marriage has been defined as a "basic civil right" so there should be absolutely no reason they can pull a "14th amendment doesn't cover marriage" card. Now if your religious beliefs are what's making you reject gay marriage, instead of making homosexuals unhappy, push for them to be excluded from religious marriage, as they are considered separate. Although I am in no place to tell people how to live their lives.

This is how I look at gay marriage: TOO EACH THEIR OWN!!! People deserve to be happy and to be with who they want to be with.

The Christian Bible says that if a man is caught sleeping with another man, that they should be stoned to death ( hopefully I got that reference correct ). Well, we are not in those times anymore. We see a lot of things that are supposedly not allowed in the Bible, but are generally accepted by today's society, such as prostitution, slavery ( not as much anymore ), among other things.

What society is trying to do is to deny the LGBT community their rights. 60 years ago, the African American Community in the United States of America finally got the rights that they deserved. Why do they deserve them? Because they are human beings. People finally started seeing that it is just plain stupid to deny people rights just because of a belief, how they look, or what they do. The United States was an overall society that accepted all forms of cultures, religions, and other things. But now, the Muslims are being hated on because of the Muslims in the Middle East. I think that we are finally getting past that.

So, if we can accept the Muslims that live in America, then why the hell do Americans not accept the LGBT community? They are human, just like us. They live, just like us. They do the same things we do, just like us. But, because of who they choose to have sex with, or spend their lives with, that means we have to socially murder them, and not let them be who they want to be? They do not hate on the straight people, who what gives us the right to hate on them because they are different?

If you take a moment to stop and think who the majority of people are that are hating on the LGBT community and trying to deny them their rights as human beings, it is Christians. They take the Bible so literally. They say that GOD makes everybody the way he wants them to be. If that is the case, then why in the world would he make somebody prefer to be with somebody of the same sex rather than the social norm? Didn't GOD wipe out an entire community or something because they refused to follow him? If that is the case, and the Christian God does not like the LGBT community, why doesn't he just wipe them off the face of the Earth because they are not doing what he is saying is right?

Do you people get what I am trying to say? Times have changed. If you think that the LGBT community does not deserve the right to get married gayly, then you are no better than a Racist hating on a certain race because of their skin color.

Barathemos : You are bisexual? Since when? I never knew that.

Sorry my fellow conservatives, but I have to side with the liberals on this one. First off, I think that each state should decide and not the federal government. But if I had to take a side on it, I would say that they should be allowed to get married. I really don't see any reason to oppose it, other than religious beliefs. Also, I think it is best that we just allow them to get married and get it over with so that the government can focus on more important things, like the illegal immigrants flooding in through Mexico, or the genocide that is going on called abortion.
