The Pokemon games are probably the best "comebacks" game that always comes up with new and improved Pokemon! It never really changes the gameplay of it, unless you played Pokemon Snap, it always was an RPG style gameplay. It never changed its founding.

Yeah, they were remakes of the original Gold and Silver just like Fire Red and Leaf Green were to Red and Blue. It's not that they are out of ideas but the fan outcry plus the new content of the DS games were enough to warrant a remake. Besides the Johto region was the only one not accessible to new players.

I'm not sure what you guys mean by "come back" but I'm surprised the Kid Icarus series came back. The original games were nearly impossible to beat for the average gamer and Metroid was the one who took the spotlight for side-scrolling Nintendo shooter. Everyone though Nintendo abandoned the series and not  a word from Kid Icarus until 2010 when the 3DS was revealed. Talk about a hiatus!

I couldn't believe that they gave Duke Nukem a comeback. That game was a huge hit in the 90's, then there were like 10 different times that they announced Duke Nukem Forever, but they didn't actually release it until 15 years later. I was excited to relive that, but it ended up being horrible. And it seems that what made Duke so funny was only funny when he was around in the 90s. 15 years later, it was like watching a senior citizen hitting on college girls....

I think that Portal 2 did as much good if not better than Portal 1. I think that Portal 2 clarified a lot of the storyline that I was unsure about in the first one. Maybe there were hints in the first one, I just didn't pick them up.

Well I think Sonic needs a come back but with their new release (Sonic Generations) they did have a comeback.

But now I think DBZ needs a comeback. They always release the same type of game.

But I think it's great that they rereleased gold and silver as heartgold and soulsilver, it provided a way to reach out to a new generation of gamers and allowed them to play a classic. I beat silver for the gameboy color, and it's a fantastic game. It was a way for gamers 10 years later to experience the game. Which is awesome.
