Here are a few thoughts for the week.

1. Man are the Saints bad on the Road. What's Brees issue with playin against the Rams over the past few seasons?

2. The Cardinals tried to blow their game but still walked away with the win. This game shouldn't have been as close as it was.

3. Charles had a chance to tie or break Gayle Sayers total TD's in a game...but fell just short. Either way, Raiders are HORRIBLE lol

4. The Cowboys are so bad. I mean first of all, why are they passing the ball up MULTIPLE TD's and the Pack hadn't been able to stop their run. How is Romo that bad in December? Why is he still the Cowboys starting QB?? He has proven time and time again that he can't win games when it matters most. To lose to the horrendous Packers team at home is inexcusable.

5. Great win by the Dolphins. The Pats played well enough to win on offense...although I was surprised they didn't get Vereen more involved in the gameplan. The main issue here was actually the Pats defense. It just couldn't finish out the game.

Glad my Bears won. Cutler looked rusty but he came through when it mattered most. Also the defense stepped up big time. Hopefully they can play well against the Eagles who looked bad against the Vikes today.

Hopefully the Lions can lose as well in a big game this Monday Night.

It's amazing how many ignorant Cowboys fans there are; blaming Jason Garrett's bad play calling for their latest collapse. Sure, he should get some of the blame, but most of it goes on Callahan, the entire defense, and Romo, in that order. Callahan because he is the actual play caller, the defense for their awful performance in the 2nd half, and Romo for constantly throwing the ball (and making bad throws) in the 4th quarter. There was at least one instance where Romo called an audible changing the play from a run to a pass in the final minutes of the game. They were having so much success running the ball throughout the game it's just inexplicable.

Chewedmint : Why wouldn't Garrett be open to negative press? It's his team that doesn't seem to be able to win big games and it's his team that REFUSED to run the ball against a team that couldn't stop the run...even though they were winning big.

Sure Romo is bad and so is the defense, but when your team doesn't win, no matter the reason, the head coach faces scrutiny. Let's not make any mistake. That offense is Garretts. He's the one that's mainly calling the plays. Sure Romo might be audibling on some designed runs, but as a coach you have to be held accountable for your teams performance.

Jordanv78 : I didn't say Garrett doesn't deserve any of the blame; I was just saying people shouldn't be blaming him for the terrible play calling because he doesn't call the plays anymore. Jerry Jones appointed Bill Callahan as the play caller prior to this season.

Not much surprise. Lions lose in OT. I still don't understand why we didn't take a shot down the field at the end of regulation. Maybe because of the fear of another Stafford interception? Well, since we are out of playoff contention, the coach will get fired, the fans will want Stafford gone, and the whole "Same old Lions" thing will probably return to the beginning of the cycle. As we saw this year, the talent was there, but didn't show enough, or at the right times, and I think a lot of that has to be placed on the coaching staff. But Stafford seemed to make more and more terrible mistakes as the year went on. He better fix that up next year.

Were down to the final week, and it is an exciting one considering all of the playoff possibilities.

All of these teams who can make the playoffs and the different seeds they can finish as a result of different scenarios is awesome.

Notable games to watch week 17:

Panthers @ Falcons
Ravens @ Bengals
Jaguars @ Colts
Jets @ Dolphins
Browns @ Steelers
49ers @ Cardinals
Packers @ Bears*
Bills @ Patriots
Buccaneers @ Saints
Broncos @ Raiders
Chiefs @ Chargers
Rams @ Seahawks
Eagles @ Cowboys*

*the winner clinches their division and the loser is eliminated from playoff contention

Aside from the Cowboys, Packers, Bears, and Eagles, the number of possibilities the remaining teams have to finish in certain places is pretty extraordinary.

Lets start with the NFC South

Carolina Panthers
- the Panthers can clinch the NFC South as well as a first round bye with a win OR a Saints loss
- the Panthers can clinch the top seed in the NFC with a win AND 49ers win AND a Seahawks loss

New Orleans Saints
- the Saints can clinch the NFC South as well as a first-round bye with a win AND a Panthers loss
- the Saints can clinch the 5th seed with a win AND a Panthers win AND a 49ers loss
- the Saints can clinch the 6th seed with a win OR a Cardinals loss
- the Saints are eliminated from playoff contention with a loss AND a Cardinals win

And next the NFC West

Seattle Seahawks
- the Seahawks can clinch the NFC West and the top seed in the NFC with a win OR a 49ers loss
- the Seahawks can clinch the 5th seed with a loss AND a 49ers win

San Francisco 49ers
- the 49ers can clinch the NFC West and the top seed in the NFC with a win AND a Panthers loss AND a Seahawks loss
- the 49ers can clinch the 5th seed with a win
- the 49ers can clinch the 6th seed with a loss AND a Saints win

Arizona Cardinals
- the Cardinals can clinch the 6th seed with a win AND a Saints loss
- the Cardinals are eliminated from playoff contention with a loss OR a Saints win

Up next, the AFC North

Baltimore Ravens
- the Ravens can clinch the 6th seed with a win AND a Dolphins loss or a loss AND a Chargers loss AND a Steelers loss AND a Dolphins loss
- the Ravens are eliminated from playoff contention with one of the following occurring
> a loss
> a Dolphins win
> a loss AND a Dolphins loss AND a Chargers win
> a loss AND a Dolphins loss AND a Steelers win

Cincinatti Bengals
- the Bengals can clinch the 2nd seed with a win AND a Patriots loss
- the Bengals can clinch the 3rd seed with a win AND a Patriots win AND a Colts loss OR a loss AND a Colts loss
- the Bengals can clinch the 4th seed with a loss AND a Colts win

Pittsburgh Steelers
- the Steelers can clinch the 6th seed with a win AND a Dolphins loss AND a Ravens loss AND a Chargers loss
- the Steelers are eliminated from playoff contention with a loss OR a Dolphins win OR a Ravens win OR a Chargers win

Lets not forget about the AFC South

Indianapolis Colts
- the Colts can clinch the 2nd seed with a win AND a Patriots loss AND a Bengals loss
- the Colts can clinch the 3rd seed with a win AND a Patriots win AND a Bengals loss
- the Colts can clinch the 4th seed with a loss OR a Bengals win

Now to go to the AFC East

New England Patriots
- the Patriots can clinch the top seed in the AFC with a win AND Broncos loss
- the Patriots can clinch the 2nd seed with one of the following occurring
> a win AND a Broncos win AND a Bengals loss AND a Colts loss
> a loss AND a Bengals loss AND a Colts loss
- the Patriots can clinch the 3rd seed with a loss AND one of the following occurring
> a Bengals win AND Colts loss
> a Colts win AND Bengals loss
-the Patriots can clinch the 4th seed with a loss AND a Bengals win AND a Colts win

Finally (after an hour of typing), the AFC West

Denver Broncos
- the Broncos can clinch the top seed in the AFC with a win OR a Patriots loss
- the Broncos can clinch the 2nd seed with a loss AND a Patriots win

San Diego Chargers
- the Chargers can clinch the 6th seed with a win AND a Dolphins loss AND a Ravens loss
- the Chargers are eliminated from playoff contention with one of the following occurring
> a Ravens win
> a Dolphins win
> a Steelers win
> a loss

All of the playoff possibilities is what makes this week 17 one of my favorite weeks of football. I wish the best of luck to all of the teams fighting for playoff berths and decent playoff seeding, and can't wait to see which scenarios will come true.

I have a plan and that plan is to intrigue myself into the sport of football. My plan involves watching it on television and possibly even play the sport itself! Goodnight, Vizzed!

Well, the final game in the 2013 NFL regular season has just ended, and now, we are heading to the playoffs (a.k.a. the postseason).
So since we're going to talk about the post season now, I'll go ahead and close this and re-open the post-season discussion.

So, here's how the games will go
