What are your thoughts as far as the health aspect goes?


I know a few people who are practically addicted to energy drinks. A guy at work has gotten a few other people interested in them. I only drink them if I really need the energy.

I was sick for a weekend once and I had karate at four (right after school) on monday. I got there and decided to go across the street to get one of the drinks. It worked pretty well, but the crash was horrible. I just suddenly felt exhausted and wanted to go lay down. Not fun.

Energy drinks can be just as addictive and unhealthy as any drug. Personally, I don't drink energy drinks because I don't think it actually works, to me it seems mental.

Obviously, it isn't healthy to drink energy drinks, especially every day. After awhile it will take it's toll on your health (depending on the brand) causing depression possibly, gastrointestinal problems, short term memory, lack of energy, and worst of all...addiction. I wouldn't drink any energy drinks unless I REALLY need to.

Most energy drinks only contain about twice as much caffeine as two cups of coffee, and little more sugar than a can of soda, so as long as you drink them responsibly, there should be no problem. Of course, I know a guy who ONLY drinks energy drinks, and he's probably going to die before he reaches 30, but hey, that's his choice.
