It does seem to make sense researching the same person since a role can be forged kind of like Cas and Warp. So I suppose it has its purpose.

Yeah, cas claimed that Warp's "Sheriff" role was forged and that ended up being correct. That being said, Warp's "forged" Sheriff role was upon his death. Forged roles can not come among the living. And there's been nothing that suggests that the Researcher can ever give a false positive...
