I mostly just listen to the various sub-genres of electronic based music, everything from progressive house to dubstep to chiptune. I really don't care what the genre is because every genre, I don't care what one, has great songs and *insert explicit* songs so I just go in with an open mind to different music types. I like stuff ranging from Linkin Park to Micheal Bublé to Deadmau5. As long as the song sounds good to me I'll listen to it, doesn't matter what genre.

I listen to everything except for country, and disco. I can't stand those two kinds, and it have to change the channel when it comes on. I really can't take it.

If anything, I would listen to Hard Rock, or Metal. I guess you can say I'm a fan of good rock shows, as well. Also, a few Japanese rock as well, and the occasional J-Pop.

I went ahead and gave techno a vote. Dubstep is not listed, but techno is as close as you are going to get to Dubstep with what you gave us.

I also listen to a bit of rock, too. Mostly Alt Rock, like 3 Doors Down, 3 Days Grace, Link Parks... that kind of stuff. But, realistically, I tend to listen to a little bit of everything. Most of it is by choice, but some is not since I am not driving sometimes.

My favorite music genre is country, because the songs in this genre has a very nice rhythm in my opinion. I also listen to Pop music quite much, but I don't like it as much as I like country. Sometimes I also listen theme songs of animes/cartoons and games. The best theme song, that I've heard, of a game is probably "In The Sky" by Miz from Grandia 3. Here is the link if you want to listen to it.

I listen to mostly rock music and I range from lots of variety of them depending if the songs are good in their lyrics as well as instrumental playing. I also listen to other types of songs as well like old pop and hip-hip songs. It's nice to change types of music sometimes for me.

I'm not sure what Vocaloid is, but that's what I listen too, hahah!

Though out of all the music I listen to, it would be Techno.

Well, as long as it has guitars, drums, bass and real vocals, then I almost hear everything, but I prefer and listen to Metal, Rock and Punk the most

Music that is either rock, metal, vocaloid, video games, etc. It can be a mix of those things to, not limited to this list. I've probably forgotten something important.

I chose "other" because just saying "rock" really doesn't  describe what I listen to.  Of course I listen to rock from the classics to some of what is coming out today.  Then there are rock-related genres that are distinctly different enough to earn separate mention-punk, new wave, ska, reggae, etc.  I like some old school melodic metal, but not enough to say I' an actual metal listener.  I also listen to classic country, folk and bluegrass.  Never have been a big hip-hop or rap listener but there are some guilty pleasures fro my childhood that I can tolerate hearing occasionally.

Anyways, I'll make a list of some I can think of off the top of my head:

Elvis, Beatles, Rolling Stones, Kinks, Beach Boys, the Who, the Ventures, Duane Eddy, Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson, Merle Haggard, Conway Twitty, Charlie Pride, the Clash, the Jam, Buzzcocks, Misfits, Bad Religion, Rancid, Descendants, Dead Boys, Iggy Pop & the Stooges, the Replacements, Oasis, Blur, Supergrass, Muse, Radiohead, the Cure, Depeche Mode, the Smiths/Morrissey, the Specials, Madness, Bad Manners, the Slackers, Aggrolites, Toots & the Maytals, Jimmy Cliff....I could keep going on, but I doubt most of you are still reading this and I'm not trying to think really hard about more music that I like.  If you know who these people are, you've got a good idea about what I like.

"Nothing can beat the music of hundreds of voices screaming in unison!"

Man, nice thread.
I've gotta say, just off the top of my head, either November Rain by Guns and Roses or Rain by Breaking Benjamin.
...
Oh. those are both about rain, lol.
November Rain is below though, and in all honesty I've got to go with Breaking Benjamin's Rain first. It's soft, smooth, remorseful, and a decent break from their harder music if you need one.
So that's mine, was happy to read everyone else's! Interesting picks, lol. But you guys seem to be missing the point. BEUTIFUL. not favorite. Rock and Metal, tho my favorite genres, are not beutiful by any means necassary.

Mine is Other, aka video game music :3.

But, to stop the post from becoming spammy, I'll elaborate.

I like to listen to instrumental - type video game music, with some lyric incorporating songs in the mix. Reason is, there tends to be a "feeling" that is with the song. It's trying to have you feel a certain way, and I like that. I tend to listen to sadder songs, because they invoke the most feeling out of me (I don't randomly cry, but I feel a certain way pretty strongly). I also like energetic types of music, and the occasional "weird" types (the ones that I don't know what to make of it ai His World). Listening to a pretty sad piece of video game music right now!

With lyrics... well, I have to look at the lyrics and the mood of the song. The lyrics have to make sense, and that's about it. Other than that, the same rules apply.

Well, here is what type of music I listen to, and the reasons behind it as well!

My favorite music that I listen to is rock music because to me music in that genre usually gets me in a really good mood. It's great for the morning if you're having trouble waking up. That music will get you pumped up and ready to go in no time!

I like Rock music as well but I don't listen to it near as much.
