Hi. I have an occasion where I am going to need to dress up as something. (I'ts a Jewish holiday by the way.) I decided to be batman. I need some help with making the costume. Please make sure it's easy to understand because I'm only 12. Also, please tell me if this thread is in the wrong place.

Well, the easiest way is to have your parents order you a costume on Amazon or something like that... but as far as making it yourself, I found some fairly easy instructions on wikihelp that might do you good.

Elara : Well, dressing up is a custom in one of them. I'm not sure exactly why though. I'ts a fairly recent custom I can tell you that.

Yeah, I'm not sure why Purim has costumes either... but I assume it's tied to the celebration portion of the holiday.

Elara : I believe it is. According to wikipedia we dress up in costumes because god sort of disguised himself in the story of the holiday. You would really need to know the story of mordecai and ester to understand this.

I think the easiest way to do it is to just buy a costume, since Batman is a pretty popular costume for children so I'm guessing it shouldn't be too hard to find one.

Either online - or if your family is not comfortable or familiar with buying things online - try to find a Halloween or costume store in your area. Obviously I don't know what kind of town you live in, but around here we have several stores that carry Halloween and party costumes year-round.
