Let's get silly.

What would you equip yourself with to survive the Zompocalypse?

I'll fill out my own in a bit.

I guess I'll go first then.

Clothing & Gear
Head Accessory: Eyeglasses. I can't see without them, and I probably won't be able to take the time to put in and take out my contacts. I'd also probably run out eventually or have to abandon them at some point. Leaving my glasses on at all times would be a must. Without my vision I'd be screwed.

Headgear: None. Don't need a hat or anything.

Upper Garment: My Patriots sweatshirt. Under that my long sleeved shirt. Might get a bit warm, but it might help protect my arms from bites or scratches. Hopefully I could get my hands on a bullet proof vest, too (something that's actually possible for me).

Lower garment: Cargo pants. Nice and sturdy with a lot of pockets for storing things.

Footwear: My running shoes. They're lightweight and comfortable.

Alternate accessory: Wristwatch. I'd like to be able to keep track of time if I wound up underground or something. It would help keep a regular sleep schedule.

Weapons
Primary: Semi-automatic MP5. Not very heavy, and easy to shoot. I think shotguns are probably better for killing zombies, but they're slower to reload and the recoil is bad.

Secondary: Glock. Easy to use and something I'm comfortable with.

Melee: A lead pipe. I don't have a lot to work with here, but that seems like it would do the job alright.

Inventory
1: My bookbag to store everything else in.

2:Some MREs. I have about a dozen or so, and those things won't go bad. They'll come in handy when I can't find food, or everything else is spoiled.

3:Extra magazines to store ammo and make reloading faster.

4:Cleaning equipment for the guns to keep them in good shape.

5:A metal flask to store water in and use as a canteen.

6:Several books of matches to light fires that will be needed to boild water or cook food.

7:Sticky notes and pens, to leave messages behind; and a notebook to write to myself. I'd need something to do when hiding out to keep myself sane.

Vehicle
My Chevy Cobalt. Won't get me too far, but I don't plan on driving much.

Miscellaneous

Stronghold: My brother's apartment. He's on the sixth floor, and right outside his room is the staircase. In there is a ladder to get to the roof, and a latch that can be closed to keep zombies off. As long as I have food there, I'd be safe, and I'd be able to get some fresh air at the same time.

Sidekick:My brother.

Soundtrack: This. I love that song.

Final boss: President Obama. And not because he's the reason the apocalypse happened or because he's the one that needs to be stopped. He'd only be the last because if I saw him I'd let my guard down. Then he'd pop me good, and that'd be how I died. I'm kinda proud of that.

EDIT: Is it supposed to add break tags all over the place when you preview an edit? That made fixing everything ten times harder.

I don't know if this is for a role play or simply just a question, but I'd like to fill it out. If it is a role play, may I join?
Clothing & Gear

Head Accessory: If anything, I would have goggles but fitted to help with my vision, though its not bad, if it helps, then it helps.

Headgear: I wouldn't need a headgear of any kind, but I may have a one of those sports headband.

Upper Garment:  I will most likely wear button up shirts (I always wear them because I like them). I could have long sleeves underneath, or I could just wear a jacket for those cold days...XD

Lower garment:  Something easy to move and run quickly, be it shorts or long pants (I'd make it to above my ankle though, that way I prevent any thing loose that could catch and hook my pants.

Footwear: Either my running shoes, or those hard sturdy boots. A shoe is a shoe, you can run in any of them lol.

Alternate accessory: One of those equipment vest, equipment belt, and equipment leg things. That way I can store/place any thing I want for quick and easy access to. It can be guns (handguns of course and probably only two or three since its on the vest, cant carry anything too big) and knives or supplies .

Weapons
Primary:  I'm not that familiar with guns so I can only be vague, but primary would be light gun that could switch between rapid fire and single shots, being a rifle somewhat. A strong gun it would be I believe, but really you just need to be able to shoot in the right places.

Secondary: Again, I'm not familiar with guns at all so I'll just say a hand gun not too light nor heavy, and not much recoil too. And I would always have a knife in my gun support hand ready and some extra on my torso vest and leg vest.

Melee: Alright this I'm saying cause I do have one...A katana, blade length is 42in and its not one of those made for simple decorations. It has that wavy thing down the side of the blade (I forgot the term) but it helps not let it crack or break soon, and its made of the metal thats strong and sturdy, but can rust more easliy than the ones with the other metal which shines more and i rust free, but is very fragile. If not that then a metal pipe or my knives.

Inventory
Within, at, or near a stronghold (temporary or not)

2 water bottles/canteens just a few clips/magazines, couple knives, a marker or spraycan to mark vital/important places, hammer and nails to either block or break down something, matches ( i really dont like using lighters for some reason XD), and a music player of somesort to keep me sane.

Away from the stronghold
A backpack to carry supplies and extra ammunition and other things. My katana, 1 handgun in place to be ready at anytime, my primary weapon. The backpack though can not be too big, only enough to carry anything I need to find another place to keep safe and resupply. Don't want to slow me down or have anything to grab me by. Music player once again to keep me sane.

Stronghold: Most likely a hotel or apartment area, that is if I had time to clear it out and fix it up to be how I want/need it to be. I could block off most doors, leaving only a selected few to exi from, the rest I would make a pathway that I could use from the back/front balconies and the windows. Making one room a supply room, the roof a look out and to scout, and other places to any use I want or need it to be.

Sidekick: Friends, other survivors, just anyone or group that can be trusted well and is efficient.

Soundtrack: "Lonely" XD just kidding. I really wouldn't know...

Final boss: I really wouldn't know...The military branch? Government? Maybe another group of survivors  that dislikes me or just trying to survive by killing me. Man, anything can happen if a zombie apocalypse were to happen.

But I will ask this, would it be just normal zombies? Cause if there are mutated zombies too. That I would be much more afraid to even try to survive. I would make an attempt though.

Xenos Silverline : I'm pretty sure it's just to fill the thing out.

I'd do an RP, but I'm not a very good writer and I've never done one before. If someone else wants to, they can certainly feel free.

soxfan849 : You have me tempted, good sir... If I ran a Zombie survival RP, would you be willing to at least participate in it? (I'm quite forgiving with quality of writing, so long as we understand the gist of what you're saying, which, given your usual level of writing quality in your posts, shouldn't be a problem)
Lazlo Falconi : Could I count on your participation if I started one?

Argus Swift : Sure thing. I've never done one before, like I said, but if you're patient enough with me then you can count me in.

soxfan849 : Awesome. I look forward to it!

Now, would we have any preference on a style of RP? Something fairly fast and action packed with traces of horror, ala Resident Evil, or more like Zombieland, where humour and awesome run the show?

I'd be all about a Zombie survival RP, but I'm already dumping time into McQuarrie, and I don't really have much free time for stuff like that these days. Anyway, getting on with it...

Callsign: None
Location: Various
Battle Cry: None
Last Words: Run!

Clothing & Gear
Head Accessory: Eyeglasses and a headband flashlight. You never appreciate how useful those flashlights are until you're in the pitch black trying to work with something tiny, especially when you're on a tight time budget, which after the Zombpoc, you will always be.

Headgear:
Multi-cam boonie hat. Will protect me from the sun, rain, and keep low visibility.

Upper Garment: Definitely a military uniform of some sort. Not an ACTUAL uniform, but I'd probably get a multi-cam FRACU (Fire Retardant Army Combat Uniform) blouse. Two breast pockets, plus two shoulder pockets offer a lot of carrying room for anything. Plus, the Multi-cam will help hide me--not that I think I'll ever need to hide from zeds, because I won't. I can run or shoot, but they'd probably be able to smell me or something, so I think hiding is out of the question. But, a lot of people seem to forget that after the Zombpocalypse there will be a ton of rogue humans who will stop at nothing to get what you have. Being able to hide from them will be key to survival. Multi-cam offers great hiding in dusty, rocky, and woodland terrain. And finally, they're fire retardant, for obvious reasons. And like has been said before, long sleeves are a must to protect from bites, but also scratches and other hazards completely unrelated to the zeds.

Lower garment: Probably multi-cam FRACU pants. Small pockets at the ankles, on the thighs, and then normal hip and butt pockets for all types of storage. I wouldn't want the old velcro style though, I needs to be the type with buttons. I don't need that ripping and tearing sound giving me away to the zeds.

Footwear: Tan combat boots, of course. It may seem stupid to just wear a military uniform as my zombie uniform but this stuff actually does offer really great protection from even hazards that people face in the woods today. There's a reason why hunters often wear combat boots, and the other stuff I've mentioned. Because it's [color=red]safe, and after the Zombpoc, safety is a real concern, because if you're not keeping yourself safe, you might as well just give yourself up to the zeds.

Alternate accessory: Wind up pocket watch. I don't need a watch on my wrist getting caught on things as I'm running away. Probably also some sort of load carrying vest, but that may just get in the way, getting snagged on things and what-not.

Weapons
Primary: See Melee

Secondary: Whatever I can find

Melee: A Celtic short sword. I find that with a three foot blade I can move fast enough that it doesn't hinder me, but also I have quite a bit of extra power, slashing ability, and prying weight.

Now, I said I don't carry any guns but that's because guns are an exhaustible resource. I will carry guns as I find them, and I'd probably have some sort of assault rifle to start with, but in the long run, I won't carry guns around. They're heavy, bulky, and exhaustible. My primary focus after the Zombpoc isn't killing, it's surviving.

Inventory
Of course a back pack of some sort and a sleeping bag. Maybe a small tent or something, I don't know about that yet. I'd also like to keep a portable DVD player and one of those solar outlet things. Entertainment will be hard to come by, and there won't be much time for it, but people still need that sort of thing. I don't think there'd be much else except a few changes of socks and underwear just to keep dry and clean.

Vehicle
Oh I'm stealing an M88A2 Heavy Recovery Vehicle. Try stopping that 70 tonnes of all-American muscle. It can roll over just about anything, and has enough power to lift any vehicle blocking it's way. Just lift it up right off the ground and deposit it safely away. Plus, it's got room inside for two or three people to comfortably (And securely!) sleep. Oh yeah, and a 400 gallon diesel fuel tank, so I'll fuel for days. (Not really, the fuel efficiency of this thing is something like 1.2 gallons per mile. Yes, GALLONS per mile).

Miscellaneous

Stronghold: I'd move from place to place. A permanent settlement is grounds for disaster. People will find you. Zeds will find you. You must keep moving.

Sidekick: Whoever comes with me.

Soundtrack: None.

Final boss: Redneck good ol' boys.

Lazlo Falconi : Anyone who come with you?Someone might hide that they're infected. It's
only a matter of time when it comes more and more contagious you might be
preoccupied by driving or hiding from them without even knowing that one
of your buddies is finally a zombie. You'll and them will find a   place to rest while a  friend of yours sees you as dinner. It's a tough decision on who to bring here. They might want to be at a location that need to be ransacked or a person they need to rescue it could be their fault in to leading you to as zombie bait.

I'm not going to list my zombie loadout.I'll become one of them instead. All I want is fangs, I'll have a huge appetite for the living and a sense of smell.I'll missed showering often but instead I'll be smelling like  rotten flesh.I can't imagine  how they'll feast on me.They'll tear me to thread. Part of my anatomy could be gone.If not, then have a good one people! Zombies go in large groups here.We eat whatever we can find as live as fresh meat .*Growls*I'm starving  I have a date in a few hours and she appear to look delicious.

death_nation : I wouldn't just be taking people off the street. And I'd damn sure know if someone was infected prior to letting them join me. And after each and EVERY encounter with zeds, I would check everyone out to make sure there were no accidents. Trust me, man. I've thought extensively on the subject.

Hey it's Raveman and here's my zombie-outbreak plan-out, in case our fellow dead no longer are dead!
Armor and Equipment listed below:
Head Armor: Bicycle helmet (not my motorcycle one, that disturbs my vision).

Equipment on Body:First: Newspaper (just the papers) taped to my arms for some protection. Next, Layers of cardboard also taped over the papers for extra protection. This will be over a T-Shirt and Trousers and under the next layers.
Trousers/Pants: One layer of sweat pants, second and third layer would be thick jeans. The cardboard and newspapers will be taped underneath these layers. The layers are to protect from bites and scratches.
Shirt: A T-shirt underneath the papers and cardboard. Next, two long-sleeved shirts and a jean-jacket.
Footwear:
A layer of newspapers and some cardboard also taped (over the socks.) Then some strong/sturdy climbing boots.
Primary: Civilian model hunting rifle  (no, I don't hunt. It's just easier to get because it can be bought at a store).
Secondary: 9mm pistol (I think that's also easier to get than other guns/weapons). The pistol can be a great life-saver. If a zombie has grabbed you, put the pistol to the temple of the zombie and squeeze the trigger. It'll blast it's brains out and kill it.
Melee: If I can't get a trench spike than I would have a make-shift melee weapon such as...a large kitchen knife placed into the tip of a removed shovel-handle and it would be super-glued from the bottom of the hilt into the the tip. It would also be taped to keep it secure.
Carried items:
1: Crowbar (also a weapon, can be used to move things out of the way).
2: A box of lock-picks (some might be just paper-clips, but it'll have to do).
3: A MedKit (scissors, bandages, alcohol for sterilizing a wound not from a bite, medications if needed, protein/vitamin pills if needed as last resort, stitches and some needles that won't be used more than once, e.t.c)
4: Spare ammunition/magazines
5: Matches and a lighter, tinder[box], flint.
6: Extra clothes (not in layers).
7. Rope
8. More to be discovered yet
Method of Transportation: Motorcycle or bike. Preferably the motorcycle because it is faster, but it needs gas unlike the bicycle so more thought will be put into this.

Food/Drink:
1. Whatever can be scavenged
2. Long-lasting food
3. Water (in bottles is probably the best).
4. More details yet to come.
Stronghold: Where I live. My team of zombie survivalists are nearby, and we've got an awesome team put together (we trust eachother, obviously).
Sidekick: Trusted people, my team I created, any trustworthy survivors I encounter (not infected).
Soundtrack: Dreamscape but not really any song do I have in mind.
Final boss: Finding a cure/anti-venom. It is important because humanity has been hit heavily, so if another outbreak happens we'll be ready.

Overview: So yeah, that's my outline/layout of my survival list. I tried to keep it realistic so that following this list can be viewed and done by an average person. I made it like this because it's not like as soon as you find out their are zombies, you have an AK-47 and a private army of zombie-slayers at hand right on the second. As you can see I don't have everything in detail and layed out, so more thought will be put in later. I hope you enjoyed this post, everything here was thought up of to resemble a make-shift last-second situation in a zombie outbreak/apocalypse.

So that's my post and I hope you enjoyed it!

This is a awesome thread! I will have a lot of fun doing this. Melee: A good old fashioned WOOD BASEBALL BAT would be great because of the blunt trauma, also you can get some enjoyment out of killing the baddies if you are accurate with slugging a baseball right in the kisser. (if they have one) I highly disagree with using blades as they require sharpening and sometimes get stuck in the zombie. You have to remember that they have rotting flesh and crushing the brain would be quite easy. Range: Most people will tell you to get a 50 cal. or some sort of gun. You have to remember that supplies and munitions are low if not depleted in the area, because where does everyone go first? The rifle store down the street of course. Also if you are with a band of people and some decides to have a mental breakdown all they require is the only gun in the group and your giving up your provisions, wife etc to the gun holder. My choice would be the BOW AND ARROW ( Razor heads included for only 10 payments of 999.99) It is stealthy has practically unlimited ammo unless you are a horrible shot or have cheap arrows. Also if my baseball bat breaks I can always stab them in the dome with arrows (Risky). Armor/Clothes/Headgear: I would have a pair of SUNGLASSES with a necklace attached because how many times have you ran then *crunch*. Hopefully I would get to the police station quick enough to pick up S.W.A.T GEAR because Kevlar would be a great repellent for the biting and/or clawing. Also I would have layers of Long Johns on if the local Walmart wasn't over run with baddies yet. Keeps you warm. Standard black LEATHER BOOTS would be great addition with some daggers in the soles if the local boot maker isn't eating his wife's brains yet.(Willing to accept plastic leather from animal activists in the area) Accessories: I will only pick two because SWAT jackets have multiple pockets. My BASEBALLS (Bet your laughing at my idea but you have to practice somehow right?) and some GRENADES would be sufficient. Transportation: I saw someone here said a bicycle or a motorcycle and really couldn't decide will why not a BICYCLE that has a MOTOR on the back wheel they get up to about 25-35 M/P/H and is good enough unless your facing those nasty track zombies. Well that's all folks. I'm not saying blades are bad OR guns but I just don't want to deal with the hassles of both of them. The only gun I would hold would be a Sniper Rifle and that would be for the instances were someone is about to die and my arrows can't reach the insurgents.
