http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/southamerica/falklandislands/9022752/David-Cameron-accuses-Argentina-of-colonialism-over-Falklands-Islands.html

So, According with Mr.Cameron's declarations... We are the colonialists... Just for Claim for the Islands...

You maybe know that Argentina is claiming for the retrieval of the Falkland islands, after the war occurred in 1982... In where the same were taken by England... Which, actually, refuses to talk peacefully about these...

Vizzed users... What's your opinion about this?

1st, it was the uk not england and 2nd, im sorry but those islands were never argentinian.
They were seized by spain, france, and eventully britain, they were never colonised.
the uk had an agreement whereby argentina could USE them.
Then argentina took them into there legal framework and declared them theres, and ignored the uk saying they were still british, and that if they wanted them theyd have to buy them.
Argentina completely ignored this and didnt even enter discussion so the people that had moved in were turfed out by the uk.
before the invasion there was a settle community of british citizens who had been there for a great deal of time, the uk started negotiating with argentina to transfer them because the islands are worth next to nothing and a drain to look after due to there great distance, however the citizens living there were up in arms at the idea of being taken over by argentina so the uk stopped the negotiations.
Argentina was ruled by a dictatorship that was commiting crimes against there people and was at risk of falling, so to rally support for there government from the people they invaded the falklands using pretty underhanded methods.
The fact is, yes, its a very colonial attitude, the falklands were never argentinian, and the only reason the uk kept them is the people demanded it, in democracy people have the right to self determination, when you try to ignore that and inforce your will, yes that is colonialism and in fact imperialism, youre trying to conquer people if you take them against there will.
Retrieval suggests it was originally argentinian, im sorry but thats false.
Im sure theres plenty of native americans in argentina that would love there land back no?
On the note of negotiation you will see that Britain originally offered to negotiate but argentina refused:
"Shortly after the formation of the United Nations in 1945, Argentina asserted its right to sovereignty over the Falkland Islands. In 1947, the United Kingdom offered to submit the case to the International Court of Justice at The Hague, but Argentina refused the offer. A unilateral application by the United Kingdom in 1955 to the Court in respect of Argentine encroachment ended in deadlock when Argentina announced that it would not respect the decision of the court."
"n the late 1960s, as part of the United Kingdom's decolonisation policy, secret discussions were held by the British and Argentine

governments to identify a means by which the United Kingdom could cede

the islands to Argentina while protecting the rights and way of life of

the Islanders. Details of the talks were leaked and the islanders

protested against the talks having taken place."

history of settlement.

thenumberone : Where did you learn that?

If all it's true... That only means we've learned the wrong things... We are trusting in lies...

Eddy88 : i watched history documentarys on it, read various accounts online, researched events in both argentina and the uk leading up to it, investigated the history of the islands etc etc, and wikipedia has extensive information on the matters (and any one can edit that so its evidently not biased.
what exactly have you been told about the falklands?

thenumberone : That the Islands were Argentinean only because they are near of our country...

I feel like a fool for trusting in that... Oh, God...
