First Mario Game I have a memory of is surprisingly the first Super Mario Bros. game for the NES which I was too young to play. First one I did get to play was the one on Gameboy Color.

Well my mom informed me that I played Super Mario Bros. [1] on her friend's Nintendo Entertainment System when I was only 1. As you might imagine, I don't remember that.

The earliest Mario memory I have is playing Super Mario Bros. 3 in my own Nintendo Entertainment system, 2 years later. I actually had a Strategy Guide from Nintendo Power and I plugged away at the game for a year until I beat it (remember, I was 3... I needed to level up my video gaming exp ). I sure felt happy when I figured out how to defeat Bowser (the guide doesn't say!) and saved the princess.

Ok, first off, I feel so much older now that I've read some of these replies. Lol Thank you to all of you who answered Super Mario Bros or the old Atari version. You made me feel much better.

My first Mario game was Super Mario Bros on the NES, and yes, it also had duck hunt. The first memory I have of it? Not entirely sure...maybe when I learned that you could play back through the second time with those beetle guys (Don't know the proper name for them) instead of Koopas. I begged my dad to beat it for me so I could play the "beetle world" lol

My very first Mario game I have ever played was Super Mario Deluxe for the Game boy Colour ( Better version of Super Mario bros 1985 ) . I was 5 when I played it, but I could only reach it to World 1-2 because I didn t knew there was a speed up button :p

The first Mario game I ever played and that I have incredibly fond memories of is Super Mario World. Everything in that game blew my mind when I was little, the enemies, the levels, the bosses, the secrets, riding Yoshi for the first time, etc. The controls felt great and when I died it was never infuriating and was totally my fault.

My earliest Mario memory was an obvious Super Mario 64 memory. I didn't really know how to play it, so I wondered around worlds and tried to run up the endless stairs not knowing how to get up there since I didn't read the message beforehand.

Ahhh, I remember my first Mario game. Super Mario 64, one of the greatest Mario games ever. Iv beaten the game about twice, two more times on the ds version, and once on both versions ive gotten all the stars. I remember that game likes its on the back of my hand. Now any true gamer would like, scratch that love Mario, cause I know I do. I know this is going off topic a bit and hopefully wont get flagged as spam, but it does have to do with Mario aand if you don't care then don't bother to read it. my sister for Christmas got her boyfriend a nes witch I took the chance to play it. Now at the time iv never played an original nes. she bought it from eBay for $80. It came with Super Mario bros., tetris, mach rider, and s tennis. Unfortunately we didn't know that the nes had a 72 pin connector that helps read the games and needed two be cleaned every decade or so. So the only two games we ever got work is smb and tetris. So my sisters boyfriend is gonna decide whats he gonna do with it, he might decide to get the materials to clean it, or return. In the end, I got to play an original nes when I'm from the 2000 generation, so I'm satisfied.

My first Mario game was Super Mario Advance two which happens to be the port of my favorite game now... coincidence I think not.
So yeah, my first Mario game was the Game Boy Advanced. Shoot me.

Well My first memory of Mario was actually my introduction  to video games themselves!!!
Ok when I was around 5 I was at a friend's house when they showed me a DS and put on New Super Mario Bros.
then I kept asking for my own DS! Eventually I got one and I was overjoyed

When I was 3, I went to a random café with my family sometimes. There was an old nes with 2 controllers and the games Duck hunt, SMB 3, SMB2 and SMB. I used to play SMB(1) with my father. When I was 3 or 4 we got a gamecube and our first game was Mario party 5. I played it a lot with my sister. When I was 6, I think, I got Mario sunshine and I love that game. I never got 100% yet. I don't know when I got Mario kart double dash ( with the limited edition Zelda disc), I think I was 5.(and for some reason I used to love Zelda 2)

I'm old enough to have played Mario 1 on the original NES (I must have been 5 or 6). Already at that time, I was addicted to video game music. It got stronger with Mario 3. I would just sit in front of the TV and listen to the music.
