Mine is a Kekkaishi picture. I considered using it for a layout, but the colors contrast too much to type on top of it.

So I got bored of my last wallpaper. Spruced things up a bit... I'm kind of getting annoyed at
that "Microsoft Confidential" notice, so I think I'll be going back to Windows 7 in a little
bit, but in the mean time, here's my current setup. I actually made this wallpaper for a netbook
because I just wanted something very simple, and I couldn't find a wallpaper that fit that motif,
so a grid seemed good to me. It looked pretty nice on the small screen with all the icons and
toolbars hidden. I'm sort of digging on it on the large screen too, but I have to get rid of all
that ugly text first. D=

Ahh, so I've been using LMDE and I accidentally used an image from a hard drive that doesn't automount (I added it to fstab but the drive doesn't spin up at boot for some reason) so one day I logged in and saw this as the background. I was pleasantly surprised by it's simplicity and left it like that. I'm using xfce as the window manager here, but lately I've been using wmii more often. I just wasn't doing anything of interest at the moment I took this, and xfce is a bit simpler for regular browsing.

My desktop looks something like this at the moment. I cycle through colors/themes by the season. It's purple in the fall. You can't see in the image, but my browser's also skinned to match that as well (in other words, FireFox and Opera are also purple).

In the winter, it turns red, green in the spring, and blue in the summer.

Singelli : Yeah, I made everything in that except I didn't draw the character used as a basis (I can't draw). This includes the "System" and "Weather" boxes in the upper-right corner.

As for the background itself, I used C4D effects in Photoshop to create the weird orbs of darkness that are set behind the character. It's really just the same image pasted over and over at different sizes and angles and whatnot... nothing to special.

I'm not a good teacher, but I'm willing to at least try to help you figure out how to do some things in Photoshop if you have that. Most of the graphics I make are me just doing random stuff arbitrarily... experimenting and seeing how stuff ends up. I don't really have anything special in mind that I'm aiming for when I do them 9 times out of 10.
