Lazlo and I started watching MLP recently (it's on Netflix!). I'm kind of a brony, yeah. I liked it lot more than I thought I would. We were super skeptical to watch it because what the hell, a silly little girl show about talking ponies. But there's a reason that grown men like it: It's legitimately funny. It's well animated, the characters are original, and a lot of the jokes are well done. I don't know why people are so irritable about the fact that grown men like watching a children's show. It's actually incorporated a lot of things that are kind of internet based, like crazy facial expressions and things. So it's obvious that they know who their crowd is. Proof: Derpy Hooves.

But I digress. Also, I loves me some Apple Jack. She's my favorite! With Fluttershy taking up a super close second.

Yes, I am a Brony, I Love Watching MLP: Friendship is Magic, It is Awesome, Cool, and It Has A Lot of Recognizable Voice Actors Like Matt Hill, Samuel Vincent, Kathleen Barr, and Tara Strong. I have never seen the show but I heard it was very addicting, Im afraid to watch it because it might take whats left of my soul and free will. 

I tried to watch the show, but I was absolutely bored after I had watched it for about ten minutes.  I see no problem in liking the show though, because it is just like liking Pokemon when you are old.

I'm not a fan but I know the series (thanks to thefinesbros XD) but respect to any brings on this thread *brohoof* haha

I once decided to check out the show, to see what the fuss was about. After watching a few episodes, I was interested enough to look at the fandom behind it and became a regular poster on ponychan for a handful of months. After a while, I lost interest but I still had some good times with the fandom.

I'm in a weird area where I can appreciate the characters Lauren Faust created and what she did with the world... but I'm not sure I like the show overall. I mean... I did watch the first couple of seasons to get a feel for it... and I have made my own concepts of characters fitting of the world, but I'm not that keen on official stuff outside some of the characters (because they're interesting). I'm not sure what that makes me.

I might like the show more if they weren't ponies (no, not all girls like ponies) and instead more humanized characters... but that's ultimately a minor thing that I can see past and still recognize the quality in character design.

I also don't care for older generations of MLP prior to gen4/FIM

I love the show. As you may be able to tell, Fluttershy is by far my favorite pony. I like it because of the wonders that Lauren Faust did with the show. If you watch the first generation and then watch this generation, you'll see a huge plot and graphics quality difference. Basically, I am a brony and I watch it for the plot.

And for the love of all things sacred, please don't use or reference that fanfic (bronies will know) that horribly slanders Pinkie Pie. That's just cruel to the audience and the readers.

Yes, though I try to keep my distance from the general bronydom, I'd rather stick to my group of friends that aren't entirely pony-related (some of them are bronies too, but that's not how I got to know them), because, as with every large fandom, the most vocal ones are all pretty much idiots (and prude).
Besides, them sticking to this "love and tolerate" stuff is annoying at best, being a fan of a show has nothing to do with those makeshift morals, though I guess it's a good mask for the media, otherwise they'd just keep portraying bronies as fat neckbeards like they used to before there were all those donation marathons.

I have quite a collection of pony toys, plushies and other merch as well, though I only keep the G4 stuff on display, the older stuff doesn't really look as good on all these shelves.

Despite all that though, I try to minimize my pony activity outside of pony-related sites and/or threads.

BluemageKyle : I've actually known about this thread for a while.. I just didn't post in it due to the fact it's pretty obvious I like the show... 

So yeah I like the show a lot.... Like most people have said it's not just some idiotic bandwagon that people have jumped on... The show actually has the production value to be a genuinely likable show. "Quick lets write a letter to Princess Celestia about these bronies"

If Anything Lauren Faust saved the My little pony franchise with this show.. The previous generations were not to the same standard of quality... I've actually watched most episodes from all the generations... So unless you are curious like I was.. Just save your time and don't watch them!.. Just stick to Friendship is Magic.... "The animation quality makes the show 20% cooler"

I also see why people don't want to be called a "brony" whether it's the fact that some people don't want to be stereotyped as some weirdo.. Or they have actually come across the "darker" side of the fandom.... Either way I don't think it matters if you refer to yourself a "brony" or not.. At the end of the day you watch something you enjoy and that is all that matters.. P.S Female members are usually called "brony" as well but some prefer to be called "Pegasisters"... an obvious pun on Pegasus ponies..  "The cider is pretty awesome as well..."

I actually enjoy a lot of the stuff created by the fandom though.. Especially the music that people make..  There are also a couple of good Parodies of the show on Youtube as well.. Friendship is witchcraft and the more adult .mov series come to mind... "you should check them out.... That is if you don't mind"..

I also think that the show teaches younger children simple morals... Which is often shown by Twilight or another character writing a letter to Princess Trollestia (celestia).. Unless your name is Applejack I guess ...  People often forget about this and focus mainly on the fact that a group of people watch the show even though it's not aimed at their age or gender... " either way LET'S PARTY"

Hmm what else is their to say I enjoy the show... I think it's great... It has a lot of memorable quotes and the ponies animation is exaggerated sometimes to show emotion which leads to a great potential to create memes and jokes about it... I think if the show did stop I'd just carry on and find something else to watch... though for a while I'd be like " IT'S THE WORST POSSIBLE THING"

Somehow this turned into a massive my lecture... "my bad".... Oh did I tell you how awesome muffins are? They are so tasty and they can have all sorts of different ingredients in them like Blueberries and Chocolate and other amazing flavours... I mean muffins are the best food in the world and anyone that disagrees has not lived yet...  MUFFINS ARE FAR SUPERIOR TO CUPCAKES IN EVERY SINGLE WAY... (especially when pinkie pie makes them)..

I actually don't want to be identified as a brony that much because I came across the "lighter", much more vocal side of the fandom, I feel quite at home on the dark side, but alas, this side is seen as the black sheep and I've even met people who said I'm not a brony just because I enjoy a little bit of mclovin.

I also disagree on your opinion about how this isn't "some idiotic bandwagon", of course you're right and there's a ton of people who genuinely like the show and are happy watching it and creating/enjoying fan-content, but there's also the unavoidable portion of people who are only on it because it became so big so quickly, to 'fit in', so to say.
I know quite a few of these people that act like the biggest fans, but as soon as they encounter anybody who is not a brony and has any kind of authority, they shut down and keep on talking about how gay MLP is and stuff.

But every fandom has their fair share of people like this and other problems, so I'm going to give it a rest now.

I'm a brony because I love MLP: FiM- it's just so full of polish, with cute but well-developed characters, great animation(dem facial expressions), good morals, a great sense of humor, amazing music, and perhaps most importantly it doesn't insult anyone's intelligence. Oh, and I do love the community so very much as well... I think that all about sums it up.www.buygw2golds.com

It's not a bad show, but I would only watch it when I am with some of my friends.
