I made some reviews for games a while ago and everyone thinks they are terrible. I'm tired of receiving "this sucks" and "this is too terrible to be a review" messages from the thread, and I wish to accept that I messed up and just delete all the reviews. I can't seem to figure out how, and now I feel even MORE stupid... Is there any way to delete my review threads even though I'm not a moderator?

Double posting in the Ask Anything, but can you recall if anyone has earned more CP or Staff Points in the month than tRIUNE before? I'm beating him so far.

Well here I go, responding to this thread which I’ve put off to the side again. Usually I end up getting around to replying to this thread during a Tour de Vizzed competition which is completely unintentional but this time it is slightly intentional. I could choose to reply to this next month but I might as well get something extra out of replying to this thread ?

patar4097 : If I could own the entire library of any game system, it’d probably be the Nintendo NES. 5 reasons:
1. It has a massive library of games which means my game collection’s game count would increase by a lot.
2. It has some very valuable games and the most valuable game ever (Nintendo World Championships) is for that system which can go for as high as $100,000.
3. If I were to take a guess, a complete collection of the NES would be more valuable than the complete collection of any other system.
4. It was my first system so all of my earliest childhood memories are for those games. I’ve got a lot of memories playing a lot of different games for the system.
5. It has a lot of really good games for it and I’m more drawn to retro games than modern games.

megamanmaniac : I’m assuming one of my kids would take over the site if I ever gave it up for whatever reason. I don’t expect that to happen for many years. As long as I’m not too old to use a computer, I’ll still be running this site.

supercool22 : I sort of have 3 inspirations for the site:
1. Before I had Vizzed, I had a site called ‘Viz Video Games’ and the inspiration to that was RPG Maker 95. I was a big fan of RPG Maker 95 in the 90s and I remember wanting my own RPG Maker 95 site similar to the great ones that existed back then. Most of those RPG Maker 95 sites are no longer around, the only one that I know of is Stifu’s (and his has changed a lot since). My RPG Maker 95 site is still up and can be found here. My current RPG Maker 95 site has only been around since 2008 but my original launched in 2000; you can find the oldest known archive to that here (I know it’s terrible but 99% of websites back then were terrible lol).

2. Once I renamed my site to Vizzed, I eventually got a forum (well actually a 2nd forum, the 1st was ‘Viz Board’ which was an EZBoard) and my site’s main purpose became Vizzed Board. The inspiration for Vizzed Board was the other popular Acmlm Boards at the time.

3. Eventually I expanded the site and added an NES Game Room which later evolved into the Retro Game Room. Inspiration for that includes my passion for retro gaming and 2 sites at the time which also let you play NES games online (using Java emulators).

$$$$ : I like the idea but I don’t want to confuse users into thinking that Vizzed is a paid site (some users are easily confused). Also, I’ve tried something similar to that on one of my other sites years ago and it didn’t work out at all, only like 2 or 3 users ever subscribed at like $4.95 a month.

lazar23 : ZX Spectrum games will eventually be added to the Retro Game Room but it won’t be for a while. The system has a massive library of games which would be a big project for the staff to test out all of the games. My other concern is that the ZX Spectrum games would dilute the RGR. It’d be annoying to have to navigate the RGR with ZX Spectrum games everywhere and a lot of them aren’t very high quality so it could get annoying. I do plan to add it eventually and I will hopefully find a solution to the problem of how many games it has.

Barathemos : I’ve never watched Hamtaro. In fact, if it wasn’t for Vizzed, I wouldn’t be familiar with it at all.

Mistress : Vizzed is a word I made up. The original site was called ‘Viz Video Games’ but I found out that the word ‘Viz’ was already taken by a company so I simply modified the word ‘Viz’ by adding the zed to the end of it. I came up with the word ‘Viz’ by altering my real name (removing the Da and replacing the d with a Z).

juuldude : Despite what some users think, I think Vizzed gets better all of the time. We get new features, new content and new members added to the site all the time plus the site’s popularity just continues to grow. I do miss a lot of the users who left and never came back but I still think the site is at its best and it’s only going to continue to get better thanks to the awesome staff and community. Also, even though the drama still comes and goes, it hasn’t got really bad in years (it use to get pretty bad).

awesomeguy279 : If I were to take a guess, I think around 70 posts is the most I’ve ever had to respond to at a time in this thread. If 70 posts was the most I’ve ever had to respond to, then I’m breaking a record with this post because I’m pretty sure I’m replying to nearly 80 posts.

happiness7 : Just click the ‘New Thread’ button at the top right of any forum page. The only forums that this doesn’t work on is the ‘Game Discussion’, ‘Game Guides’, and ‘Game Reviews’ forums. To make a thread in that forum, you have to do so from the game pages of the Retro Game Room and Video Game Room.

My favorite system in the RGR is either the Playstation or the Nintendo NES. The Playstation isn’t an “official” system in the RGR since it’s hidden so if that doesn’t count, then we’ll just say the Nintendo NES.

I feel like my favorite changes once in a while though and I’m never for certain on which retro system is my favorite. I do know that my favorite system of all time is the Dreamcast. Also, in the 90s, my favorite game system was the Turbo Grafx. I’ve had access to a ton of games and systems throughout my life thanks to my Dad being a game collector.

cnw64 : I’ve been a fan of the Mario Kart series since the early 90s when Super Mario Kart came out. Up until Sonic and Sega All Stars Racing (and Transformed) came out, the Mario Kart games were always my favorite racing games.

Barathemos : I think owning Vizzed and working on it full time is my dream job. I can do what I want when I want (usually) which is great, I don’t have to leave the house, I can express my creativity and ideas however I want without restrictions, and best of all, I get to be part of the greatest community on the internet ?. My other dream job would be to make flash games and I hope to get back into flash game design and maybe start creating flash games for vizzed.

TheFadedWarrior : My wife and I actually met on the internet. My cousin was friends with a girl in a nearby city (about 30 minutes away) and he chatted with her on MSN Messenger and she eventually added me to MSN Messenger. Her friend (which is my wife now) eventually added me as well and that’s how we met. We chatted online for a few months until we finally met in person. We made it a rule that we wouldn’t start dating until we met.

Slythion : I’ve been learning most of my skills on my own either by going through tutorials on websites, video tutorials from Lynda.com, books from amazon.com or simply by playing around with scripts I found on the internet. I did go to college and learned some stuff there but majority of the stuff I know I learned on my own. For me personally, I learn better when I’m teaching myself.

I’ve been gaming literally since I was 2, so that’s 27 years now. I’ve always been into gaming and my Dad being a game collector really helped influence my obsession with video games.

I don’t remember how I got into web design exactly but it was a great way to combine 2 of my interests together.

Eirinn : I watched all of the E3 coverage that I could find. Halo Master Chief Collection was definitely the most interesting game I saw. I don’t know who I thought had the best presentation, either Nintendo or Microsoft.

SaphThePikachu : I feel good about the people on Vizzed, I think it’s a great community and I feel comfortable with being a part of it. A lot of internet communities feel very hostile but Vizzed is pretty laid back and friendly.

I do have plans on making a new PM system so that they’re more like threads. It’ll probably be quite a while since it’d be a big project.

pokemon x : Yeah it is annoying when users apply that don’t qualify, it tells me that they either didn’t read anything I posted or they’re being arrogant and thinking the rules don’t apply to them.

PixelBrick : I think the series died after Final Fantasy IX. I’m sure the Final Fantasy games after that are great but they just don’t seem like Final Fantasy games anymore.

I personally love the idea of Final Fantasy spinoffs and I think they should do more of them, especially for the older games.

sonicmcmuffin : It is true that I get a huge increase in replies to this thread during the Tour de Vizzed. It’s usually not annoying unless the same user keeps asking questions before I get around to responding to them.

Barathemos : I think that this Tour de Vizzed is better than the others in so many ways. It’s harder to cheat the system now, the system is more balanced, users who don’t post much can now participate, etc. It’s not perfect though and there are some improvements I plan to do over the next 1 or 2 TdV competitions but it’s a massive improvement over the previous TdV.

I’ll change my layout once I reach 50,000 posts. I’ve been averaging around 5000 posts a year for the past few years now and since I’m only at around 33,000 right now, it’ll be at least 3 ½ years before I hit 50,000 posts and have to change my layout again.

thing1 : I’ve never thought about interviewing users but it’s something I could possibly consider doing. It’d have to be well known users though, otherwise users wouldn’t care about the interview if they didn’t know the user that was being interviewed.

Barathemos : I’m sure someone someday will get the Vizzed Syndrome. I do plan to update the syndromes someday. Maybe change the requirements, change some of the names and maybe add a few.

thing1 : I will finally reveal the secret to the Flaming User Name:
Every day the requirement is a different random number between 50 and 150 and that requirement is the same for everyone each day. I do not pick the numbers, Vizzed does. This is the first time I’ve ever revealed this secret to anyone ?

The Flaming Username will eventually be upgraded with a future feature which will make it possible to have additional name styles similar to the Flaming Username. I will not be revealing any details of that future feature for a quite a while though.

mariosonic123 : The Retro Toon Room was removed because the site I hosted the video files on was removed by the FBI. That scared me enough to not want to have video files like that on the site.

MattyIce : My Gamertag is the same as my Vizzed username. I use the same username on just about everything. She can add me if she wants.

Barathemos : Sometimes I do get really overwhelmed with all the things I have to do and take care of on the site. Sometimes I feel like there’s too much work for a single person to do, which is why I tend to get behind on PMs and Notifications. Sometimes I do 50 or 60 hour work weeks to get caught up and that usually helps if I do that for many weeks straight. I don’t think anyone understands just how much work goes into this site and how much time I invest into keeping it going.

tgags123 : He was a guy who tried hacking the site. I eventually got him to help me patch the site to prevent hacks like the ones he was doing so he started out as an enemy but became a friend.

Out of everyone who has competed in the Tour de Vizzed, you probably would deserve the win the most since you’ve been investing time into the competition all month long. No one has invested as much time into the TdV this month as you have. I’m not saying I want you to win over pacman though because whoever wins doesn’t really matter much to me, I’d be happy for either of you.

Thanks for answering all those questions, I thought you forgot about them! 

The memberlist contains all members and I believe the members are listed depending on how active they are as you are on top, then comes Leggy and so forth. The last time I looked there I was at 101 but I'm curious, how does the system works? How can you move up in ranks there or go down? Is it a matter of activity, popularity or something else?

juuldude : it's all based on post EXP. the more words you have each post,and the more posts you have, the higher on that list you will be.

David, will you change my username to Beeratheswag? How much would it cost to do that? And how much time does changing a username really take?
