UserMike : I worked at a Bar and Grill when I was 14, I was a dish washer and I hated it lol. I'm pretty sure illegal stuff went on because there would be times I'd work until 1 AM and since I biked to work, I would have to bike home at 1 AM (which was 3 hours past curfew lol).

No dance or cooking classes.

shredknives : Yeah probably 100 a week. I use to get tons of people chatting with me on the chat bar too until I stopped accepting friend requests and started to appear offline. I hate to do that but if I didn't, I wouldn't get any development accomplished.

I would like to point out that the thing Leggy was talking about was the Miss America Pageant. The winner was crowned a few days ago (my fiance watched the final day. Not my choice

Anyway, in your thread about your son on the way, you mentioned homeschooling and your kids not having to learn things they will never use. Just wondering, what kind of things that are taught in schools do you plan on taking out for your homeschooling curriculum? I find it interesting to see the different things homeschooling families teach. Just to eliminate any possibility of misinterpreting what I just said, that was purely nonjudgmental. I just like to hear others opinions on things like this.

rcarter2 : I wasn't home taught and neither was my wife so neither of us have any real bias. I think a lot of the science classes are unnecessary, some of the history classes are unnecessary, there's just a lot of stuff I think are taught in schools that are a waste of time and I'd rather use that time more wisely. I honestly didn't get a ton out of high school, especially the last 2 years. I lot of the stuff I learned I barely remember and almost all of it I don't use in my daily life (or probably ever).

I can understand that. As one of my teaching fields, I really like the biology field of science. It turns out that I got a lot out of it. However, I also do admit that unless you plan on either going into some field of biology or simply love it so decide to teach it, you aren't going to really use it. At least you don't use it to the point where it will change your life any, aside from being able to spot when the news gets stuff completely wrong. I know I'm not going to be one of those teachers who tries to convince my students that knowing what I teach is essential to succeed.

Ever play the Batman Arkham games? If not, I recommend them. I was super skeptical about them, but now they are among my all time favorites.

I guess I'm certainly too off and on with my posting activity to instantly climb back into being trusted, that and I flame people easily. Silly Vizzed Elite status that I want back so desperately. Hah.

When you were in school, did you have any class that you excelled at more than the others?

rcarter2 : I admit that science can be fun but what really turns me off is when teachers start preaching. We had a science teacher and she preached against the Bible all the time.

I don't think I've played a Batman game since the Sega CD lol.

shredknives : Wait, how did you lose the Elite status? Did you have it at one point?

I was pretty good at art class but I really excelled at phy ed, was one of the more athletic kids.

Well I had elite status when I returned, and then I lost it for flaming (I'm pretty sure) Geeogree(sp)

Did you ever do a self-portrait, if so, how did it turn out?

Yeah. I honestly hate when a teacher decides to get too preachy with the lessons. I am a believer in science, but am a Christian man myself, if that makes much sense. I actually believe that the theory of evolution confirms the description of Genesis. I actually posted quite a bit on this in this thread.

https://www.vizzed.com/boards/thread.php?id=35254&ppp=100&page=0#528072

I think you might appreciate what I said on the last paragraph of the post that was 1383 words long (again, just the last paragraph. The others were in response to another user's questions). You should read it when you aren't busy. The reason I think you might appreciate it is not me saying you would agree with it, but you might appreciate it because it is a viewpoint of a science teacher who tries to confirm the bible rather than dispute it.

Who's gonna make it to the Super Bowl? I'm kinda leaning toward the 49ers for some reason.

How disappointed were you after the GB-NYG game? I was kinda rooting for Aaron Rodgers and the Pack to take the championship.

shredknives : I did in Art class in High School, it turned out decent, probably better than most of the portraits in the class. I've never been great at drawing people or animals, I've always been better at drawing scenery and objects.

rcarter2 : I actually disagree, I don't believe in Evolution and have found enough evidence in the bible to prove that the earth was literally created in 6 days (this is coming from someone who has read most of the bible and has re-read the book of Genesis and various other books many times).

However, since I don't have many hours to go into detail to convince everyone, I'll leave it at that.

lone-wolf_0991 : Last night. When I pray, I pray for others, I almost never ask for stuff. I think the last thing I prayed for was for the safety of my family.

Eddy88 : An American Tail and that's because I asked for it for Christmas from my parents.

Maybe the ability to fly.

icrazy : I wasn't necessarily obsessive with vizzed soda but any time there was a celebration of any sort, I'd use vizzed soda to celebrate.

tj4bigred : I'm thinking the Patriots and the Giants
Since I already know, I'll make my prediction on the winner, which I think will be the Patriots.

I was very disappointed, that was the Packer's worst performance all year, no one could catch the ball and Aaron Rodgers QB rating was a season low. If they would've played just as good as they've played during any other game, they would've won. I think resting Aaron Rodgers in week 17 (and also the bye week) made him lose his momentum.

It is no secret that a lot of staff have had to step down from their positions due to too much going on in their lives. Has there been anyone in particular that really shocked you to hear that they had to step down?

Another question. Has the whole SOPA thing made you try to jump start the Video Game Room in case it does cause you to have to take all the ROMs down?

rcarter2 : Probably the biggest shocker was Geeogree, 2nd biggest was noelia.

Yeah it's really motivated me to work on the Video Game Room. If it weren't for a few other higher priority issues, I'd be working on it right now. I really hope to get it released before the month ends.

What are you going to do now that noelia stepped down?

Vizzed.com is very expensive to keep alive! The Ads pay for the servers.

Vizzed has 3 TB worth of games and 1 TB worth of music.  This site is free to use but the ads barely pay for the monthly server fees.  If too many more people use ad block, the site cannot survive.

We prioritize the community over the site profits.  This is why we avoid using annoying (but high paying) ads like most other sites which include popups, obnoxious sounds and animations, malware, and other forms of intrusiveness.  We'll do our part to never resort to these types of ads, please do your part by helping support this site by adding Vizzed.com to your ad blocking whitelist.
