Overall - 8.8
Metroid on the NES is kind of a good game to play. Metroid has been around for so long now and it still is fun to play the games that are old. This game is very interesting and it is a good classic game. When I played it, it was so much like Mega Man and Kid Icarus put together, mostly Kid Icarus because it plays like a maze. The game play is fun. I guarantee you that this game is fun and it just never gets old.
Graphics - 8
The graphics are good, but Metroid herself looks funny. You can tell how Metroid looks like with the orange suit and other things, but the orange on Metroid is a little too bright, just saying. The effects looks similar to Mega Man and it is just what you would expect on an NES game. It is very good for an NES game.
Sound - 9
The sound is very good. It has songs that sound just like Metroid. It is amazing how it would sound very good during the game play. There is only one song that plays it when you are not around a boss and it can get annoying, but still, it sounds like Metroid and some may enjoy listening to it over and over again. The sound effects are good too. It is not annoying or stupid, it just sounds right in the game.
Addictiveness - 7
The game is fun. I would play it some of the time when I have nothing to do. Like I said, it does not get old. Sometimes I would get tired of it because I would not know where to go and it is just a waste of time trying to find out what to do and where to go, but other than that, it still does not get boring.
Story - N/A
There is no story in this game. When you turn on the game, it will bring you to the title screen to press start and it would say start new game or continue and it would just bring you right into to the game, not telling you anything about the game or the point of it. What I think the story is, it could be Metroid trying to defeat Ridley. That is all I think the point of the game is, but there could be more about it.
Depth - 7
The game does not have many things in the game. It is like Mega Man from the start, you just start the game or continue where you left off. Then it would play as Kid Icarus where you can go around finding upgrades for you that you can use during the game to help you. Another thing about this game is that when you want to choose which weapon you want to use, your character would change colors. That is what I like a lot about this game. That is basically everything in this game cause there is not much you can do, it is just like Kid Icarus.
Difficulty - 5
The game is okay to play. The enemies are not that hard, but to know where you need to go can take a long time to do. What sucks is that when you are in a big level and it you get to the other side of the level, if you go back, the enemies will come back to life and it can be a pain in the butt to defeat them or avoid them all. Other than that, the game is still fun.
Wrap Things Up...
Metroid can be fun and it can be awesome to play cause of the music and the game it is played. I highly recommend trying this game out if you have not already. It is fun and you can try playing the other Metroid games cause at first I thought that these games would not be so fun, but when I tried them out, I really seemed to like them a lot. I am surprised the way the games are nowadays. Overall - 8.8
