pi0x : Yes, he's been suffering from a rare form of pancreatic cancer. In fact, most people who have had pancreatic cancer would have been dead a while ago, so he's been living on a prayer for the past couple of years.

the_casualty : Actually they did not specify the reasons for Job's death. As to if and when they tell us how he died is up to them.

That aside, it is absolutely shocking how sudden this is since he stepped down as CEO just over one month ago. Because of the decline of the company after Steve was fired by Apple back in the 90's, people are already wondering if they will stay afloat. But that is for later.

Now is the time to pay our respects to someone who revolutionized some of our everyday media --music, TV, movies, and more. He started in a garage... and built one of the biggest companies in the world. He strived to make products that consumers could use with ease as soon as they bought them.

Well, I think it'll still go pretty well. I'm not a big fan of Apple products so I can't really analyze how I think it's gonna go, but I'm sure that there are other leaders that will step up and come up with some more great ideas.

Was just about to post this until I decided to look in here first. I wasn't a fan of Apple, but the guy did a lot for the world. Sucks that he had cancer. And at only 56, too. He was one who deserved to live longer. It'll be sad to see him go. R.I.P. Steve.

Steve Jobs isn't dead, he just became obsolete. The iSteve 4GS will be out later this month.

Reports are coming in that doctors tried reviving him but it turns out that the defibrillator required flash

The employees at Apple are going to need a pink slip... because they're all Jobless.

I have no real opinion on Steve Jobs or his products since iNeverBoughtAny.

In all seriousness though, he was a brilliant man (or so I am told) and the world will miss him (if my facebook wall is indicative of the world)

I feel bad for his loved ones, and I will probably get yelled at for having a jokey take on things like this.

It was his time, and he went peacefully apparently. So there's that. No better way to go, than to go when you say you are ready.
