I just don't think it's fair the way ash get's like 2-4 starters in the anime and I really wished you could be able to do that in the game.

Ash is just one lucky duck, that's all.

But he can only carry 6 Pokemon per region (because he never uses the PC) and his Pokemon start at level 1 at each new region. And he forever remains 10 years old. That means he can't ever drive.

So in some ways, I think you have it better than Ash. x3

To be fair though...Ash is weak when you take things into account compared to someone devoted to the hand held games. I'm willing to bet if his team was accurately translated into the games, he would be weaker than an elite four team (I know Red technically represents him in Gen 2, but I do not consider it an accurate representation) or perhaps even several of the gym leaders...he essentially resets his entire team each generation with the only Pokemon likely powerful is Pikachu. Speaking of Pikachu...in the fifth generation he gets attacked and got beaten by a trainer who got their first Pokemon...five minutes prior! Even with an overcharge and severe damage, Pikachu has beaten stronger foes in the past with ease! To be fair it was a legendary, but still it is shocking...

And besides...technically in the first generation game Pokemon yellow, you can acquire four starters by the time you finish the third gym...ignoring trading of course.

Anyways, the games weren't supposed to reflect off the anime. It would be nice to have 2+ starters but you have to remember that you can't find a starter in Wild Grass.

Well that is why you trade those Pokemon like they are drugs on the play ground. That is how I got all of them as a kid. Though it is weird that they made the game like that.
