The Wii has been known to release some fitness games but this one is by far the coolest.

So basically you play the game that it comes with by riding an actual stationary bike.  The faster you pedal, the faster you go in the game AND you can actually use the steering wheel to steer in the game.  Even though there's only 1 game that takes full advantage of it (from what I know), it can be used for other games for the Wii and GameCube.  Here are the product features from Amazon:

  • Cyberbike Cycling Sports is made exclusively for Cyberbike
Magnetic Edition, an indoor stationary bicycle that plugs into the
GameCube port on the Wii game system.
  • A bicycle, submarine, wagon and helicopter transport the player to unique environments, across 18 different levels.
  • Three game modes: Story Mode: Unlock the vehicles as you play by
pedaling. Fitness mode: Set a goal (distance, length of time, calories,
etc.) and ride until it is reached. Multiplayer mode: Up to 4 players
    can play by taking turns.
  • Adjustable difficulty levels, set according to resistance level on the Cyberbike and by the type and length of the track.
  • A high replay value in the fitness and multiplayer modes means hours of fun and fitness for all members of the family.

I would love to get this but I probably wouldn't be able to justify getting it unless my current stationary recumbent bike stops working.  When that does happen, I'll definitely try and get this because I love biking and this would be a great alternative when it's cold outside.  Only draw back is that this looks a little less comfortable than my current stationary bike.

It can be found on amazon here: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0058CSF8E?smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER

Just another example of how gaming and exercise are coming together. I think this bike game is overdoing it a little, since you can ride your own bike outside for the same price, but maybe it appeals more to the people who have been playing games for all their lives, I dunno.

Someone70 : As I mentioned in my post, it's good for when it's cold outside (or night time or rainy).  I have an exercise bike that I actually use probably 4-8 hours a week and up to 12 hours a week during the winter months.  It's also convenient to be able to workout by doing my bike while being able to watch my daughter if my wife is away, sick, cleaning, sleeping, etc.

Exercise bikes have never really been that good of a workout. Theres very little cardio involved with it compared to normal biking in my opinion. Hopefully this has accurate pedaling so when your going up hill it should be 10x harder to pedal. I personally am not a fan of game accessories like this, the only one I would use would be a gun for games like duck hunter or time crisis. Although it might seem neat, I still don't think any of these come close to the arcade games that you would find in a normal arcade. It is good for cold weather though, and I sure as heck would not want to bike where I live so this would be the better option if I had the money. I just dont understand how someone could pay $200 for a game accessory, thats more then the gaming system itself. Before you know it Wii will come out with a bowflex

JigSaw : You're doing the same thing on an exercise bike as you are on a real bike.  The one you tried out probably had very little resistance.  I don't really look at this as just a gaming accessory but rather an exercise device with a gaming addon.  It beats getting a gym membership though, they're usually like $50+ a month

True, well its at least much better then the steering wheel accessory I once had for PSX. It made it that much harder trying to drive when the steering wheel was dismounted from an imaginary car lol. I think this would work perfectly with the game Paper Boy and you would use the wii remote as the paper.

I want an exercise bike to have the wheels like a normal bike... and bump up on down very uneasily like it would on a dirt road. I also want it to have flames, and play edgy music.

This is ok until then though =P

sounds like a really cool bike, if I had the money I'd get one.

Davideo7 :

Damn.

I was actually kind of hoping for the most realistic bike simulation ever, and it would basically be EXACTLY like riding a bike outside.

One day... one day...
