I can feel people's emotions, the strongest is with my friends. Sometimes with people I don't know but it's harder. I sometimes feel like I'm invading people's personal space by just feeling their emotions, especially if they're really sad.

I used to be really empathic; I could pick up on people's feelings pretty clearly. (and no, it's not a mental power, I'm just very observant and I'm good at picking up little clues).  In school I was voted onto the Peer Helpers team by my fellow students because everyone said they felt like they could talk to me and that I'd at least try to help them out.

As I've gotten older, though, I've either discarded or lost a great deal of my empathy; I think it's kind of self-preservation. I don't need to know, or for the most part care, what my fellow peons are feeling. I just need to work, get through the day, and go home. Getting caught up in other people's issues at your place of business just leads to trouble, believe me.

So I'd say I'm not, anymore. And I'm kind of glad about it; it was always a bit annoying to be the one everyone came to with their problems but the one everyone 'forgot' to invite to the party.

Yes and no. As a child I was a little messed up mind wise and I was always analyzing people. And now, since I have grown up and grown out of my weird mental psyche (which I was fine with admitting I had after someone referred to me as a "mad genius") I am not as good at it anymore.
