i like offline gaming more since most of my games i play are offline only, and because it has the story mode, while online gaming is pretty much anything but to the story plot of the game.

I think they're both pretty even. Online gaming sometimes has lag, and sometimes you can't even connect with someone, but it's fun to mess around with your friends. And even though offline gaming isn't the same without your friends, the story, gameplay, etc, is better.

I say online gaming just because there is usually more to do in one than an offline game.

I'm more of a laid back guy when it comes to playing games so I don't like the stress of other people screwing me over. So I vote offline. I gotta say, when you just wanna run around and do things, those people who like to run around and kill other people are real jerks. It's like, I can't take five steps to get something before someone else takes it or kills you. (That's not in a specific game, just generally speaking). I guess I'm just not that competitive. That's one reason I like Pokemon so much, no stress. I don't have anything to worry about and it is just plain fun.

I say offline because I'm sick of people taking video games too seriously when youre against other players. You can't enjoy a game when everyone is stressing out. Gotta relax, and unless I'm playing in a server with friends or a LAN party... I'm disinclined to play games online.

Also, WoW. Case and Point

I voted offline because I like games with a deep story line and character development and you just don't get that online. I also don't like how serious people get when they play online or how immature some of them are. The only online game I have played and liked is WoW but I also found it very addictive and haven't played it in about a year.

Davideo7 : Well, I have a mixed opinion here, I usually play Fight Night online after I beat career mode a couple of times, the one thing I don’t really care for in regard to it is that some people resort to dirty tactics rather than play by the rules when trying to get a knockout. For instance I fought a couple of bouts yesterday against some people who were very good skill wise where as I am trying to re-familiarize myself with the controls because up until a week ago I wasn’t able to play for months.

Anyway, I ended up getting knocked down with one of my fighters in the Middleweight division and I got up and beat the count only to have the guy I was fighting throw a head butt and a low blow to stagger me so he could finish the fight. I ended up leaving him a message on PSN that for someone of his record which was something like 23-2,15 KO’s to resort to dirty tactics to win a fight doesn’t speak well of his skill and such.

He responded with some trash talk saying that I wasn’t really that good and sucked etc (Which in reality I’m not bad, had a few ranked fighters before I had a YLOD problem.) I didn’t think much of it and simply said I may not be on your level just yet but at least I play by the rules.

It isn’t that big of a deal obviously because it was likely a kid with nothing else better to do with his time and it's a game after all but, something like that probably annoys me more than most because I actually cover Boxing for a living and have a natural appreciation for technique and skill rather than dirty fighting.

I do think that offline play is good also and gives you a better chance to get some skills before competing online depending the game. What I like in the case of PSN is that likely you have the chance to download some add-on content for most games, what I think they should do is reduce the pricing on some content though but for some paying $.99 to $5.00 isn’t so bad.

I also think that online gaming has gotten considerably better over time and as new games come into circulation that it seems to have more enhancements. One thing I think needs to be improved though is servers especially for games released by EA. Sometimes you'll be playing a game and either right before the game starts or in the middle of gameplay the server will disconnect you from the person your playing seemingly at random.

It will likely get better in time. I do enjoy the competition though when I have the time it's relaxing.

I personally enjoy offline gaming more. Mainly because 1) depending on your connection to the Internet, your game might lag, cut completely, etc, 2) n00bs and conceited jerk offs will often curse you off when they are beating you in any way. The only reason I really use online gaming is so I can play with my friends, I don't like just playing with random strangers.

I could go either way with that. Online games get updated every so often, adding to their game play. Offline gaming is fun if you're bored or hanging out with friends or having a party.

Offline without a doubt.

1. Offline games offer a better story because they allow phasing more easily than online games.
2. Offline games offer better gameplay because it can add endless amounts of diversity while online games are stuck trying to be as much like chess as possible (if you check out WoW you will see what I mean, World of Chesscraft is more like it these days).
3. Offline games offer unlimited progression.
4. Offline games require no subscription fee after a X amount of time.
5. Offline games don´t "need" you to be there for a raid or something, you can take a break whenever you want to.
6. Offline games neither have elitists nor noobs.
7. You can choose any of the different things you want in a offline game, sure you can go for the best spec in the whole game but unlike in online game no one forces you to do it and you can be a bard or whatever you want to be.
8. No hackers or gold sellers messing up your game.
9. Never unplayable because of connection issues.

And I can go on.

Only thing that Online games are better at is that you can more easily play with friends, but online games consist most of the time 99% of strangers who most of the times are either elitists who put you down for playing the way you want to play (even when you´re not even asking to play with those people...) or noobs who believe it´s your duty to either do what they want you to do (boosts, giving money, help them... ect) or get spammed by them logging between different characters between each ignore.
Offline without a doubt.

it all just depends on the game to me. if its console, then i like online gaming better. but if its pc then typically im gonna enjoy offline games more. but games like wow and starcraft 2 are incredible and im pumped for diablo 3. (im a huge blizzard fan)
once diablo 3 comes out, im probably going to prefer online gaming more.

Offline gaming is great for practice and stuff (if its competitive games) but Online is where you get to showoff the fruits of your labor and hard training! Its also a good way to make rivals and such!

I voted for Online, but I guess it all depends on your preferences. I recently got Marvel vs. Capcom 3 for the PS3, and have had just as much mastering the offline Arcade mode as I have mashing it up in the Online lobbies. There are times when the Online fighters bug or annoy me with cheap tactics, so I go back to offline for a while and cool down.
