This is  a review  for an application of Spider-Man for the N64. This is my first review so take it easy.


      Spider-man was a game that made me feel super! Wordplay! I digress from stupid jokes, but I truly enjoy this game.
 
 I remember playing this game at my friends house on his N64, and we would take turns every time we died, but from the first time I saw the game I felt as if Spider-man was so tough and witty, I wanted to be him and I felt like I was when I played this game. Fighting thugs on the roof tops, meeting other Marvel characters, chasing venom in the sewers, and other examples of wall crawling action! Over all I loved this game it is Amazing, Spider-man(groan).

    This games graphics were blocks, but still pretty detailed. For example, Black Cat looked  hot, and during the video sequence Venom scared me and almost oozed evil. The drool from his large.... tongue was a metaphor for malevolent villainy. Then Black cats tight costume is a way of showing boobieness or something. Kidding..... not really. Now the graphics do not seem comparable, but they were good back then. Now games may look beautiful, but Spider-man was about having fun and fighting crime. Games now are better looking they are also more playable in a hypnotic way, its not fun just addictive. Spider-man looked good then and to me it looks the saw as a new Final Fantasy.

       Pow! Boom!Bang! This games sound was what you would want from a super hero video game. I can remember hearing Spider-man bickering with J.J or mocking Rhino, and one of the most memorable moments was when Spidey was get chased by the guys in helicopters up the wall of a building, and hearing one of the guys saying," Like shooting fish in a barrel." That phrase my friend and I would mutter on the swings then crack up. Lets say Spider-man was fighting Scorpion, he was freakin' out now you spray webs at him, you think you have him, but you hear the webs snapping and Scorpion laughing like a mad man. When punches land you feel them in you knuckles( maybe a side effect from excessive playing). If you were hit by Carnage you feel like you are sealing Spidey's fate,but fear not the game over dong may sink your stomach for a moment or two,but just try again for M.J.( Mary Jane Watson not the King of Pop)

        Games now suck you in with online play, I swear to god that if I hear some one say, " I'm a blah prestige in CoD." I will murder their xbox and get it pregnant before I kill it. Spider-man is just as addictive, but if you beat it once you will change the difficulty, which you might beat. Then it is pretty much over. The thing that makes it addictive is how long and good the story is I mean I spend years playing it. One game without online. I consider it addictive maybe you do not.

   The Story is what really pulled me in, other than the fact it was Spider-man. The story is that Peter has to take pictures of Doc ocks new invention, but then a Spider- man swoops in and steals it Spidey has been framed and there are aliens sending  gas across the city, and the government is after him. I loved Spider-man, but him trying to figure out who framed him and fighting villains was a great story. Which I do not want to give the ending away to who it was.

      The game is sort of lacking in depth. I mean the world around them seems so small, but  it does take some time to beat. So I will give it a somewhat high score in depth there is not much to talk about, because there is not too much depth. The world seems so small and a city should fell big and crowed, granted there is gas floating below, but still it could have been expanded.

  This games difficult rating was kind of hard to mark ten years ago it was hard, but now I feel as if I could beat it easily, which I think I might try after this review. The game seemed hard then so I took that ten and made it a seven considering it still might be difficult to beat mostly, because I forget how. I must truck through it was from a time when games were fun, but not art, when kids played them, when Spider-man was not Toby maguire, but a hero. The  game made me thank my friendly neighborhood Spider-man, who happened to be a pedophile. Kidding.

I actually own this game for the Playstation, its pretty fun, but I don't know if there is a difference with the N64 version or the PS1 version, so I'll go and check it out.
