My church supports homosexuals and prays for other churches to do the same. So do I.

Unfortunately... I haven't been to church as of late so I can't say the answer surely enough. ^^;;

However, as a child, my Baptist church never did mention much on terms of sexuality as far as I know.

I go to Catholic school however, so what is taught is that homosexuality isn't quite right. Homosexuality doesn't really start as a child (which I find is true because as child you tend to do things you don't even perceive of today). It's not genetically done either because studies haven't really proven that yet either, which is also true at the moment. It can also develop due to personal instances such as rape, or what they're not or today's society with a person's actions being considered effeminate for a man or masculine for a woman to make a person THINK they're homosexual. At the time of a teenager is when a person REALLY struggles to find what defines them, and think that their sexuality does it. And really, sexuality doesn't. At the time, teens have blossoming feelings that cannot be fully understood till reaching adulthood.

What I'm about to say is how I see things.

I do believe that homosexuality should be accepted in any circumstance because as long as they love the other (rather than infatuate), treat that person with kindness and integrity of another, I do think they're living God's way. I do however sorta disagree with people admitting to being gay at a young age because they may be not fully understanding what is sexuality and WON'T quite realize who or what they're attracted to until older. Sometimes, it could be the case admiration of that other person (which IS infatuation), but you don't know at the time because attraction (of any type) is rather blind. It's especially blind as a teenager because you're still developing.

I never go to church so I don't know. But my mom's gotten more religious lately and she always has some Christian radio show on. I think they usually pray for them.

I don't agree. The hosts are so... closed minded. They have a question and answer section on their show, one time a man was asking him a question and the moment he said the word "gay" the pastor was automatically disgusted and hastily asked, "why are you asking this? Are you gay?" That show and my mom are always going on about how gayness is wrong and against God's will. *sigh* My mom wishes I agreed with her. I know a couple of weeks ago my school had a "Day of Silence" to support gay people who had to suffer because they were treated badly and bullied. When I told my mom I was participating she was against the whole idea, "why do you guys have to defend gay people.?"

She wishes I was more religious but she doesn't realize that the more I listen to that show, the more I disagree with Christianity.

Sorry I guess that got a little off topic.

Ay...that's the kind of stuff that turns people into Christian haters. Statements like, "why do you have to defend gay people?" and pastors reacting disgustedly in a hastily manner. I wish people would stop screwing up the meaning of Christianity so some people (such as I) won't have to try so hard to defend Christian views. I hate when people get really religious and even in a fundamentalist and crazy manner. Listen, if you wanna get the Christian take on things, go back a few posts to BNhuge's comments. That might clear some things up a little. I, for one, agree that homosexuality is not the will of God but I also pray that people would stop bullying and slandering homosexuals. I have had friends/have friends who are homosexuals, and they know my views. Sometimes we will get into discussions where we will disagree with each other, but no one walks away hotheaded or angry. I wish people could debate with clear minds and a ready message and a loving heart. Bah.

From what I've gathered from the news, most churches handle homosexuality by telling the priest not to do it anymore. Sometimes they lose their jobs too.

I don't think homosexuality is a sin, but I don't go to church just because i think most of them are corrupt and avoid the issues of today's society, you have a problem with some just because the bible says so then I feel sorry for you.
