The Overview of this project:

Basically we're going to create a Flash based battle arena that will allow members to battle with eachother using their stats and weapons. The rules will be based entirely on the previous text-based rules, but there may be some added rules.


"Rough" To do list:
-A complete outline of the game, how it works, etc (davideo7)
-Actionscript coding
-Weapon Graphics
-Character Graphics
-Environment Graphics
-Menu Graphics and other graphics

We could have you do GUI and menu's or something like that, if your up for doing some AS coding, thats up to Bigbob whether he'd want your help or not. The sound effects will have to be unique to the game, they couldn't just be ripped from other games or websites (same goes for music) - the reason for this is, I'd want the entire game to be original and to avoid any possible copyright issues. And for testing, we can definitely have you do that if your up for that also. You can also be supportive in a way where you come up with additional ideas/suggestions during the progress of the project.

I'd rather a side based fighter, like dragon quest (I acutaly found out how all there sprites fit together, and thats how I'm making it )

RpgMaker (all of them) bg maps would work awesomely David.
I got a good idea for animations, but I'll discuss when we get up to that part in the development.

Also, a feature I was thinking about is where you can choose to "move" as an option (you'd only be able to move forward or backware 1 slot - this would also be considered your turn I'm thinking). For guns, the further away you are, the worst the accuracy, however, only guns (and bow and arrows) can shoot from a distance. Of course, you'd only be able to move away from the opponent so far (this would be more fun if it were 2 on 2 - 1 person in the back, and 1 person more up close).

Here is an example (players represented by x and - means available spots to move and | means the center line that you can cross)

So in this example, the player in the back on teh left could attack the player in the front on the right with any weapon since they have no spots in between them. The 2 guys who are in teh back from both teams could attack anyone if they had a gun, however, the further away their target is, the worst odds they have of hitting them.

Move could be dumb, in the case you have a very short range weapon, you have to move closer and closer and closer, all while they attack you (with there cannon). But I guess that kinda makes sense..
