I agree with Catdog to an extent. Gays, Interracial, whatever preferences should be able to marry.

However, I don't think relatives should be able to marry. That's a bit....over the top.

YourMajestyKen : Nooo. The thought of it, me marrying my cousin or whatever, sickens me. Even the thought of my best friend marrying her brother makes me raise my eyebrow at the very idea of it. Yeah, seriously, no. I don't know what they were thinking back then when brothers and sisters had to intermarry. To maintain the purity of the family? Oh c'mon. Lame reason. 
But yeah, I agree that almost everyone else should have their rights to marry. Note I said ALMOST. 

Sorry for how late this reply is. Geeo is right about one thing; this does not change the stance religious groups have, and this includes me. I have stated before that I am a conservative Christian. And I will forever believe that marriage is the union between a man and a woman. People who hold the same view on the subject as I do probably will not just step back and let the situation go; instead, the situation will drive them to fight law even more.

Look. The last thing I ever want to be is anyone's enemy, but I am against this law as I stand for what I believe to be right --just like anyone who agrees with the passing of this law. Just like any common U.S. citizen I stand for equality, but what can be defined as equality is something that many of us will never see eye-to-eye with.

I believe the incestuous thing is inherently excluded when most people say "people have the right to marry no matter what" as it is one of our longest held taboos and as such the thought just doesn't occur. For the record families married cousins rather often in the past, and even now I believe it is legal to marry a second cousin almost universally (first cousins are allowed in some states) but it has never been legal at any time in history for siblings to wed. It has always been seen as wrong, in every culture, throughout history.

Ok not getting into that whole family wedding thing.  I'm open but not that open, sorry...  I have cousins that were adopted by my uncle, they aren't even blood related and I can't even imagine marrying my male cousin...

Back on topic to the gay marriage.  My brother is gay and so I have always supported the rights for gays.  I know my brother had it rough being attacked in his first college down in Pennsylvania.  He then finally found someone he could live with, but he then separated realizing that person wasn't the one.  But he too is for the rights of gays to be married.

See what the law is doing is following the constitution.  It is said that church and state is separated and so the religions can do what they want but also the law can do what it wants.  So religions still can ban gay marriage but gays can be legally married under the state without being in a religion.

Btw I am a confirmed Christian.
