One time, I was on a school trip for a weekend. At a store that we stopped at for a chance to get some snacks for the remaining bus ride, we found various candied insects. Grasshoppers in caramel, mealworms in suckers, and that kind of stuff. They also had small containers of chocolate covered ants. A group of us bought a lot of them and had some  fun with them by making games where the consequence was eating this stuff. I ate a raisin box sized container of chocolate covered ants. Not bad, actually.

Well sure, I've eaten "one" ant. I never ate an ant again however, because for some odd reason... They burn a weird disgustingly hot sensation... Could be because I ate a red one, but I sure ain't eating a black one to compare the difference.

I'm sure most of us have, inadvertently, I mean. Although this is typically not suitable if I were writing a paper, I read/heard somewhere that bugs get into our food while they're being canned, shipped, prepared, and so forth. It's something that's unavoidable. It's hard to keep nature out of the way. If I remember correctly, the average American consumes a few ounces per year of bugs without even knowing it. If you search around enough for it, I'm sure you'll find the study somewhere.

I'm not so much concerned with the one ant I've eaten but more concerned by this statistic.

"The Average Person Swallows eight spiders in their sleep per year."

I'm glad this was proved false, but it's bad enough that I have to worry about spiders in the day time, I'm certainly glad I don't actually have to worry about swallowing spiders in my sleep. Honestly, how would that even happen?

I've never eaten an ANT that I can remember, but I am sure I have eaten a bug or two in my life...actually I think statistically everyone has in their sleep. They just didn't realize it when it happened.

I know for a fact that I have accidentally eaten a bug while riding a motorcycle or a bike.

Not intentionally, but yes I have eaten an ant before. One crawled into my mouth while I was dozing off. Next thing I knew I was chomping down on a big black ant.
