We've noticed lots of users, repeating the same messages over and over again on newbie threads. We'd like to inform you that this IS still against the rules since it's counted as spam. You'll receive a 1-day ban for first offense.

If you want to repeat your messages, please add something new or unique into it. It's preferable that the non-repeating content is 2/3 of the whole post, while the remaining 1/3 is fine to use for repeated contents. However, if it's possible to make it even shorter than 1/3, then it's better.

I also like to point out that if it gets abused, expect me (or other staff, but more likely, it would be me or mrfe) to ban you from newbie forum for one day. It's not like it's gonna hurt your post activity, it will just give you some time to cool down and think of your actions.

How to abuse it? By having about a paragraph of the same message and just adding a 10-word unique sentence into it. Please avoid doing that. As much as possible, the unique part should be the longer ones.

Having more than 10 posts in newbie forum within a day could put you under our radar, but not automatically puts you in trouble. It just means we'll keep an eye on you more than the others.

Another BIG NO is copy pasting. It also applies for the whole board and not just in newbie forum. Needless to say, it's also a form of spamming.

Note that the 1 day ban is for first offense ( for spamming). For second offense it could be a ban from the whole board for one day or something else, whatever the situation demands.

Please report immediately those that are not following the rules. Thank you for reading and for cooperating.

Exuse Me, but i found a thread, it was something like, WANTED: FIRERED/EMERALD POKEMON VERSION FOR 10000 Viz - Earn Viz - Vizzed Market - Vizzed Board, so i said something rude actidently, something like He probaly doesn't have 10,000 Viz anyway, also, if i find out this is a scam, then i might report you, even if i evolved from this thread. and This is obviusly fake, if i wanted fire red/emerald, id just download them.

anyway, its not worth it. (sorry about the double post, i neeed to add something and i dont know if there was an edit post, if there wasn't, id highly recommend them to add one)

also my grammar is bad, sorry about that.

Well I should report myself self hun. I've just realize that I've been posting the same thing over and over when I'm welcoming the newbies, but of course I'm adding my own thing to it. It's a good paragraph when I welcome them. Now that I've read this. I need to slack off of doing that. My intentions are good, but I want to avoid spamming as well. I won't be repeating myself like that when I'm welcoming the newbies here.

Hey Juliet! I post everyday in the newbie forum trying to welcome people who joined that day or the day before.. so If I have had 10 posts or something in a day please forgive me I wasn't trying to spam one bit. I just really love welcomeing the new comers to the site. I try to switch up my posts all the time here even before I read this thread. I type all my posts though I have never even thought of copieing and pasteing the same one but ya. I will keep this thread in mind and make sure not to type any of the same things.

I don't normally post in the newbie forum, but I like to welcome the occasional newbie, because hey, who doesn't want to feel wanted?

It got annoying seeing people making like 20 posts in here, and they all said the same exact thing.

Guys- Seriously, let's just be nice,  not spammy.

Glad this was posted to be honest. People aren't going to feel welcomed if they see they are getting very near the same messages that every other person is getting. It can give off the wrong impression to some people.

YourMajestyKen : Actually, I already did, and from that point, I stopped spamming in the Newbies. (Good thing it was only 10 posts, it could've been worse.) 
If I have to be banned, I'll willingly wait the ban period out. (Although, that would severely impair my VCS competition rank =P)

Not trying to be a butt hole or anything but why don't you send the noobs a message instead of replying to their posts, cause when I was a noob that would help me more than a post (I rarely read them) just a thought.

billythekidmonster : We have that feature as well. Vizzed bot sends welcome messages through pm.

Others do find the replies to their threads faster than the pm's that they receive though, specially now that we have the notification feature.

but doesn't your signature count as a spam since its always the same?

rioario : That's a different case. Signatures won't get counted in the word count per post, meaning, members won't get extra Viz for it. Plus, signatures are more of a decoration for posts than actually being a part of the message itself. 

Hi all. Sorry it took me so long to read this an post...(so many great games to play.. ) I think it will take a long while to play them all.. It's a good thing that finishing a game isn't  top on my list. I would like to send a big THANKS to davideo7 for making this site because it would cost a fortune to own all the games here.. Hey Juliet, just wanted to know if I was on that radar. I try to post in the newbie forum often. I try to say different things, but I do ask a lot of the same questions and comments to a lot of newbies. I think I keep them different from each other, but I just want to make sure so I can monitor that in the future.
