Just seen a Poll on Facebook about this and hardly anyone was voting for Yes, in fact their was over 1,000,000 people who answered No and about 11,800 who answered Yes.

Personally if facebook charged i don't think i'd pay.. i use it to talk to friends and that's about it really.. i can do that on other sites easily + The features on facebook are not worth paying for at all.

Pay for facebook? That's ridiculous...there's no way I'd pay a penny out of pocket for a website that does nothing for me besides keeping in contact with people I see on a daily basis! If Facebook were to charge, I'd delete my account and go back to Myspace.

Nope, because first off, I don't use it that much (only to check messages sent to me by people who don't know my email address). Secondly, there are other forms of online communication ( Yahoo IM, Email, and so many others that my head will begin to hurt). And lastly, the real world is a nice way to communicate with people too! Most people on my friends list either go to school with me or live about a block away.

I'm not even a regular, and there's nothing extraordinary about facebook's features. I don't think facebook will do it anyway, they get enough from advertisements and if they do that, the users will be cut down and people will eventually leave due to lack of friends.

I wouldn't and I couldn't.  The only reason I use facebook is to keep in contact with my long distance family.  I some times play their games (rather play on here or kongregate).  If they wanted me to pay I would just get emails and phone numbers and then I'd be set lol~  Anyway most all social networks are free so it would be pointless for them to start charging us users now.

I don't even use Facebook as it is, free or not, I won't it. Seriously, Facebook is like handing over your privacy to the world. It's bad that I am able to get someone's name, age, phone number, know their husband, know how many kids she had, address, and where and WHAT she worked at and what she does for her job. That was in less then four hours of just searching data on the person from just Facebook. Granted it's not like that for every single person but still. =/

As far as i'm concerned Facebook is just a way to stalk friends/family/enemies online and to push advertisements in your face.

Plus it really doesn't take that much effort to pick up a phone or send an email to try and meet up with friends does it.

Would I pay to use facebook?   After much thought about this subject, I have come up with the answer of " no frigging way!"   My reason for this is because I do not hardly use facebook now, more or less if I had to pay for it.  I feel facebook is just a scam that gets everyone to stop doing what they grew up doing, having actual conversations with actual people.  I know that this is the information age, but I do not see why people can't dial a phone or write a letter instead of posting/sharing or texting.  This is the reason why I believe that, in the next 15 to 20 years, children are going to learn how to type instead of write.  When I pick up a pen and paper and write my name down, my grandchildren are going to see that as a magic trick.  Facebook allows people to stay in touch over the span of many miles, but it also allows people to find you no matter where you are at.  Blocking them only works if you notice them sending you a friend request.  Sure you can change your privacy settings, but many complaints have already been issued about facebooks privacy policy where they didn't secure some information.

If I ever had to pay to use Facebook, I would cancel my account because people shouldn't have to pay for stuff like that.

Pfft. I definitely wouldn't.  I hate being on Facebook enough as it is.  The only reason I have it is because it's the only way some of my "friends" know how to get in touch for time-sensitive events.  If they started charging just to use it, I'd be gone in a heartbeat.

It still bothers me that people willingly pay money for Facebook games (which are pretty much all clones of each other with different names for things).

To be honest with you guys, I wouldn't pay to use Facebook. Why would I wanna pay to use something that should be free? The only thing worth doing (in my honest opinion) is to play the games on it, which are sometimes fantastic, but even then, I would never pay to use them because they still aren't that compelling. If Facebook was ever pay-to-play, I would be fuming and just call the company out on their massive flaw that would probably never be fixed because the companies of today are way too greedy and think for absolutely no-one but themselves and all the money they could milk out of the poor people who go on Facebook way too much.   If Facebook wasn't free, then there would be no reason fore me to use it, my account is set to be destroyed in less than 14 days, so I will soon not have a Facebook regardless of the fact that it is free.  The best and most saddest part is that even when I was an active Facebook user, I was still on Vizzed more because I like being able to meet new people instead of archiving people who I kind of know who I rarely if ever talk to.

To be honest ... no. I don't use facebook that often anymore because of family issue's . My family is going through a lot right now and they need my support more than the fake friends I have on there. Most of my real life freind's don't use facebook or barely go on it anyway ... so whats the point ? I can just call them on my cell phone , text or e-mail them or have them come over to my house if I have the time or go to theirs. So I don't really need facebook so I would not pay for it.

Paying for facebook is like paying the monopoly man $200 to go to jail.

It's a public records database where they profit off of distribution of your private data where anyone can spy and use what you say and do as evidence to fire or convict you as a terrorist.

Maybe it helps you connect with "fake friends" you probably never even talk to. It also helps you connect better with law enforcement, employers and stalkers. In terms of business, you have to be either a whore or very popular to find it any bit useful. If you are not popular and not a whore the entire site is worthless and it does a horrible job helping new business pages get connections and likes.

Just like LinkedIn, if you are a nobody the only way to get known is to whore yourself with spam or ads when they should be doing the opposite by promoting nobodies and helping them get connections without the use of spam, ads, or buying likes. When you have to buy likes or friends on a networking site that just goes to show how useless the site is at networking.

Facebook makes enough money through their advertisement sponsors and game credits that people buy with REAL money, so I see no need for facebook even charging people in the first place. When facebook was released as a public company on the stock market their share prices unfortunately immediately dropped. I believe that people do not think facebook should really be worth how much it really is evaluated.

Never. I already deleted my Facebook account roughly a year ago anyway. If people need to contact me, a phone call or email should suffice. Let's put it this way - I had roughly 200 ''friends'' but probably only about 5-8 genuine ones, if you understand where I'm coming from. After a while I just started disliking the phoniness and ego-stroking.

If it were me, no. I wouldn't do it because the only thing I ever do on Facebook is update my Status and play games. I don't think doing that would be worth paying money. Plus, I don't ever get on it that often. So, no.

In a sense... some people already do pay to use facebook. Those people are the ones who play games such as farmville or castleville. Personally, I've never gotten into the idea of paying for games or really anything on facebook. I do know however that some pages do pay to advertise their page on the side bar you normally see when you scroll through your feed or a game saying "Hey! Like this!" None the less, I wouldn't pay for anything on facebook. Not worth the money when I could be paying for better things in  life.
