Do you play any Instruments? I play guitar, bass, a little bit of the keyboard and I'm learning how to play the drums

I used to play Clarinet and Flute in band, but I quit about six years ago. As soon as I went into Highschool I stopped joining band. If there was one instrument I could afford I would want a piano...

I can play drums, and have been for about four years. Probably the easiest instruments considering you don't have to worry about learning any notes.

Choko453 : Oh, I know. Without drums bands would sound awful, there would be to beat to the songs. I'm just saying that it's a lot easier to be able to play an instrument without having to learn different types of notes.

Currently, I don't play any instruments. However, I know how to play the Bass Clarinet, Clarinet, Ocarina, and Recorder. I've played instruments throughout elementary school to graduating high school.

It's been a desire of mine to learn how to play a string instrument....the Violin is what I have in mind.

I play trombone in band, and I know how to play the guitar(which, I guess also means I know how to somewhat play bass since they're similar), and a little bit of piano.
I'm working on guitar at the moment but I'd really like to be able to play piano well at some point in my life. Piano music is so soothing ^^.

No i don't play any insturments yet but im hopeing to get some drums after we move to the new house and then i will learn to play them.

I play piano, a bit of flute and violin. (Recorder, harmonica... I don't know if it's counted since I just play them once in a while).

I also play Hand drums, and the one that needs stick. I find it more enjoyable to play the hand drums though. You could just go... wild, and fast, without worrying about anything else aside from the key signature. No need to think about basic patterns and you could go and invent your own beats just with your own two hands and a drum. I also play wood beatbox.


But still my favorite is piano. My main instrument. I love that you could play something that sounds complete (with background music, beats, 2nd main... etc), with just one instrument. And also compose a piece for 5 or 6 instruments to play together, just by knowing how things work with piano. Invertion, chords... octaves... The creativity it allows people to have and use really amazes me. Not to mention that you could also make your own beats with a keyboard that has a MIDI outlet.

I used to play the saxophone and then the clarinet. I was only a beginner though. I really liked the sax, unfortunately I was so tiny back then that I was unable to reach most of the keys so I had to switch to clarinet (which I didn't like). In retrospect, I wish I chose the trumpet. I always wanted to play that. I still do.

Choko453 : I learned how to play by ear from dad, lol. A family member that knows how to play the instrument makes life easier. I used to depend a lot on the music sheets and notes because, "that's what my prof taught me". But now I learned that knowing how to play using chords and playing by ear are also important.
I wanted to know how to improvise and make my own rendition of Brand New Breeze by Kanon, and since Dad plays piano, I asked him how. So he taught me how to play by ear. And not to believe on everything the teacher says when he's teaching you music.
Just wanna give your sister an advice lol, since she's taking up piano lessons.

Juliet : I try to give me sister advice and she doesn't listen especially when it comes to piano I'll suggest something and she'll be like "I'm the one who plays piano go pluck your guitar strings!"

I play drums. I am currently learning guitar for the 3rd time. after I learn that I'm gonna learn bass.

I can play classical and electric guitar, tin whistle, and balalaika. This summer I'll be working on learning to play a violin bought ages ago. Wouldn't mind having a shamisen to mess about with too.

No, but most everybody in my family did, If I was to play an instrument I would play the drums.

I've played a few instruments over the years, but my major one is guitar. While I do some work with acoustic, my major field is electric. I mainly play electric blues, classic rock, hard rock/metal and instrumental rock, although I am trying to learn a bit of everything (as I can enjoy most genres of music)

Most complicated songs I known would be from Joe Satriani and Iron Maiden most likely.

I played Trombone in middle school. Once my dad can buy it, I'm getting a blue Mark Hoppus Fender Bass.

I taught myself to play a little bit of piano by ear last year, I learned trumpet last summer, and I hope to lean to play the ocarina because I have a plastic ocarina that is in half and I want one of the glass ones, but they're kinda expensive...I want to finish piano and continue working on trumpet 'cause I've gotten pretty good, so...yeah..

a couple years ago i played the electric guitar, but as of now i do not play any instruments.

I'm currently trying to get back into electric guitar, but am so busy with schoolwork, and other hobbies. I would play more if I had a place to set my fan that I always have on. Me and hot weather aren't good friends, so I keep my fan on. I would put it on the small table near my other desk, but I'm afraid of any papers flying around either way I position it since there's always papers on either of my desks. I might have to turn it off when I play guitar.

I'm currently learning how to tune the guitar. I already know most of the basic chords, and can play the guitar on the standard tuning. Few sites actually give pictures of what the tunings look like for guitars with all the tuning knobs in one row, and the guitars with them on both sides of the place they are at. I don't even know if I actually tuned my guitar to the baritone or b tuning thanks to my sucky abilities of reading music.

I might want to start with learning how to read music, I think...

I used to know how to play recorder and keyboard. I was forced to learn those instruments, so I forgot how to play them. I often gave people earaches and headaches when we practiced recorders in music class. I'm amazed I didn't just let myself get a bad grade out of my hatred of being taught the cursed flute child that was thrown off into an alleyway to die. I probably still have my recorder, and only bring it out to say how much I hate it.

Well I been taking course for three years in Violin, I like it a whole lot....but had to abstain for some reason......Recently I heard a beautiful music, I want to play it on the Guitar, but I will have to learn it.

I can barley play the guitar but I have been trying to teach myself for about 2 weeks now.  I can kind of play half of the song Sugar by System of a Down.

I've been self-teaching myself to play the electric keyboard. I'm learning how to play songs just by knowing the tune to the song. When I get better at playing the electric keyboard, I'm going to make my own music for my movies.

Alright! XD I love playing the piano, any type of music at all, though I usually prefer to play in the minor keys. I know how to play both electric and acoustic guitar, the drums a bit (its really just rhythm and beat and being able to fill in to the beat ), I enjoy to dj too, though I'm still just starting that, I know it is something I will be good in since I enjoy it a lot. I have made my own songs and lyrics.

I've been playing drums for about 16 years. I really enjoy it to be honest. I also play in a band called Falling With Glory! If anybody is interested, you can find us on various websites, just check Google. I love playing drums, but I'm also really against the type of drumming that "clutters" the music. Time signature changes don't automatically make your band awesome. My biggest influence is definitely Tommy Lee. I'd love to compare opinions.

Technically, I do not. Although, I finally decided to start taking some piano lessons because I have always wanted to learn. I know that I'm 24 years, but it is never too late to start learning, right? So I have only been playing for about 6 months. I'm not great at it, but I am improving

actually, i'm pretty talented if i do say so myself (and my dad, mom, and music teacher says so XD). I actually play  recorder, piano, guitar, alto sax, tenor sax, baritone sax, drums,  and harmonica. I really want to play violin and trumpet. I CAN probably play every other instrument after 5 minutes of learning the fingering and some notes.  ( I learn music in a special way..I don't read the music, but i hear it. It's hard to explain, really. My dad says that my talent is a gift from god )

servbot128 : of course it does! that's like asking if a guitar or a piano or a clarinet counts as an instrument! It makes sound and you press buttons XD. it's hard to explain excactly what an instrument is. We played recorder in music class for all of fifth grade. (well, almost all of it. more like every other week XD)

I play piano, guitar (a little), harp, recorder (does that count, lol), and viola. None of them very well except piano, but even that, it's been a few years since I've gotten to play. I'm learning Harp right now.

I got a guitar for Christmas. Learning and practising since then.

I also play on the keyboard sometimes. It has light keys, so you can
choose a song and learn to play the notes that are lighting with the
displayed fingers. Yeah, you can say I'm a pretty noob in playing music instruments, but it is really fun. :-P

My music theory is really good, and I can play most instruments by ear, but as soon as it comes to playing music from the sheet music: ABSOLUTE DISASTER (Which is the main reason I choose to sing rather than play instruments...lol)

I play a few instruments between concert band, jazz band, Mariachi, and Marching band. I started off on the Euphonium, picked up the tuba, play the trombone for jazz band, and I play the bass with some friends after school. And for string instruments i learned how to play the Double bass(The really big cello). And lastly i know piano.I enjoy playing all these instruments and it's been fun.

I don't play any instruments, although I question myself every day on whether I should have at least given music a chance. My Father was an excellent Trumpet player and my 2 brothers got into music for a bit before giving it up prior to middle school. But like my Dad, I can hear a chord or a few notes of a song and almost immediately tell you what it is if I hear it often enough. Hence more than likely I would have been a good musician, especially by ear but never explored it. Plus learning sheet music isn't that hard, or so I've been told.
