What made you want to choose the career you have now?

I currently really want to be a Geological Oceanographer and I chose this because I have a passion for it and I just love Oceanography. Although I have ran into some troubles in my persuit of this career I've over came them. But now some new challenges have come to light and they make me want to rethink my career path slightly. I could go on but I just am curious of anyone else having similar experiences.

So I would like to know what made you want to choose the career you have now? And what led you to choose this career? Also were there any snags along the way for you as well?

I have an extremely creative and art-oriented mind, so of course I want to do something involving visual arts. The reason I want to be a graphic designer is because I have had a passion for it (with or without realizing it) for almost my entire life. In most cases, I am a perfectionist when it comes to esthetics; especially when it comes to the layout of a poster, the composition of a piece of art, the editing on photography, etc. The same goes for websites, which is why I am also interested in web development and web design.

Well, I am currently in school for Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering. I was kind of forced in to Drafting in high school because of an error in sign up 8th grade. Actually ended up enjoying Drafting and took 1-3. AutoCAD is the best, so at first I wanted to do Architecture, but my teacher and I decided that I enjoyed the technical aspect more. So Engineering it was. And rather than major in Civil and minor in Astronomy, I learned they could essentially be combined and now I'm majoring in Aerospace. I do not foresee a change in major outside engineering, but I may minor in Music Performance.

I want to be a teacher thanks to some very cool ones that I had back in high school who actually made learning fun. I chose history specifically because I find the subject fascinating, and have learned that when you have the right instructor it comes alive for others as well, and I want to do that for students because so many kids are bored by the rote system of names and dates and they just hate history because of it... then you get people that cannot even tell you when the War of 1812 was, and that is sad.
