I want to make a weekly tip thread to give advice on stuff. What I would do is come up with a topic and do a search on it using google or whatever. I'd then post it here, either copied or using some of my own words, so you all can learn something from it. I want to know what would be more beneficial to you guys: advice on fitness or advice on health.

Fitness tips would include proper stretches, good exercises, warm ups for certain activities, ideas to do for spare active time, lifting techniques, good clothes/shoes to buy along with other equipment, etc.

Health advice would have info like home-made remedies, how to examine your body for certain things, nutritional advice, medicines, good/bad foods, how parts of your body work, hygiene and products, etc.

The threads I make will be stickied. They will be open so you guys can discuss and put your two cents in, adding or even disproving certain things, since I know I'm not the only here who knowledgeable. Take your pick and what you would like to see these threads made for and I'll post the first one up on Monday. Or rather Tuesday for me. I'll wait until I get several responses here.

I think I'd prefer fitness tips. I think health is too broad of a topic to be properly covered; where as with fitness you can focus on specific areas of the body for certain weeks and stuff like that. Plus, I already have a healthy diet and stuff, where as I'd like to expand my knowledge on fitness.

Call me a stick in the mud but if you're going to google things, what stops anyone from looking them up for themselves?

I mean, we have a thread dedicated to Health/Fitness and people can ask general questions there, ya? Why go the extra step?

It's a nice idea but I don't know if it'll pick up. I'll jump in and help, since I grew up under the watchful eye of my dietitian mother and I do personal training. That is, I'll add if I'm invited!

I know what you're thinking, but that's just it- people can look stuff up themselves, but how many do it? I'm doing this for a few reasons:

-People who don't care to look it up will see the thread and hopefully come in and learn something.

- There are always things a lot of people may not have heard about.

- People can add in stuff that even I may not know, even after reading an article and posting it here.

- Yes, it may seem redundant, but people don't always ask about things. You can also look at it as a thread someone made for discussion and/or advice.

I don't know many members will interactive with the threads, but if they can learn something from them then that's all I need.

I can vouch for Cyro Zero. Sometimes people will not look into a topic even when they know they have the opportunity to do so. It may see redundant to talk about known topics, but doing so may be what others need to actually get themselves immersed into the subject to begin with. Heck, I am making plans to do something like this with a different topic on another website. I look forward to Cyro's threads --and I could use this for my own physical fitness or lack there of.

I like the idea of being able to come this forum and find some homemade medicines and some fitness advice.

Well alright then. I know I said I'd have a thread up by now, but I'll work on getting one up on Saturday (Friday for most of you guys). I think I'll also alternate between fitness and medicinal tips.
