When The Hobbit part 1 comes out in December of next year (december 20ish I think. Perhaps THIS will be the end of the world...), how many people would go and see it. The director and writer of the Fellowship, Two Towers and Return of the King, will be making it, so it is sure to be awesome!

I loved the book and the LOTR movies weren't badly done so I'd probably go see it. I like that it's coming out in two parts. Means they'll be able to fit more of the story in and it worked well for HP.

Man, I've been waiting for this movie for years after first knowledge of it--I don't know how many years ago. Yeah, the LOFTR trilogy was awesome, it'll be sweet for it to finally be finished.

I can't wait for it. The books were awesome and the director makes amazing movies. I still haven't gotten tired of the LOTROs even though I have the movie set as well as watching it on TV every once in a while. The Hobbit sounds awesome.

I have been stoked for this movie for YEARS! I am totally going to go see it the day it comes out, or maybe the day after if tickets are too hard to get. I am a HUGE Tolkien fan, ever since my dad read The Hobbit to me when I was about five years old. Words cannot express how happy/excited I am for this movie, especially because Peter Jackson and the original Lord of the Rings cast is coming back for it.

So this will be the start to the lord of the ring quest The book did
it justice but the cartoon that was put out by disney well it kind
of sucked. and plus with the Harry potter moives almost comming to
an end. it will be nice to see a new block buster of out the world

I plan to go see it. The nice thing is that the book is so much shorter than the LOTR series that you can actually cover 90% of the detail in a single movie without cutting anything important. I don't like how they chopped up the movies the way they did. I understand they had to change some stuff but I would have preferred it if they had stayed true to the story more.

From what I heard, they chopped it up in half BECAUSE there was so much detail and it was hard to fit into one movie. The son of J.R.R. Tolkein, Christopher Tolkein, is obviously somewhat in charge of what goes on with his father's content and therefore thinks his father would want the movie as close as possible to the book as possible.

The book goes through a lot of detail with the battle against smog, the cave of Ebellion (pretty sure that was his name), and the Troll incident all had explicit detail. Even the rhyming game with Gollumn took a while. There is no way they could fit it into one movie. They already have to cut out a lot of the detailed parts because it would be like 9 hours.

I've never read the Lord of the Rings books but I have seen the movies countless times.  I read the Hobbit around a year ago and it was pretty much what I remembered from the cartoon Hobbit movie I saw as a child.  I'm sure the new Hobbit movie will be great and I'm looking forward to seeing it in the theater.

It will be interesting how Peter Jackson approaches this...I do hope he doesn't cut anything important which would really help a lot, as that's why a lot of movie/film adaptations typically blows to people who read the books. I will wait and see what happens, but I won't give many impressions until I actually see it, however.

I would like to see this movie come out soon just because I loved the books and the movies were really good as well. I just hope that they have enough to fill both parts and don't scavenge for things to add in there. Better then subtracting I guess.

My only real concern is this:  

First came the LOTR....the Hobbit is supposed to be before all of that, back before Gollum became Gollum. Before Frodo was born, and before Bilbo became this grate adventurer with his pall Gandalf. Will it keep to that?
