Personally I think video games are an art, it's just an interactive form of art. There are so many things within a video game that would make it an art form; the music, the graphics, the story, etc...and all that together would make the game a masterpeice.

Actually I agree with Davideo on this one. The graphics and music and such. Some people just don't see it as such and think that it's just a waste of people's time...but if you think about it....I'm going for game ART and design...how could it not be a form of art when infact the wod 'art' is used in the title of a program that helps create video games?

If you've never messed around with anything such as rpg maker, you really cant understand the beauty of a geme, or atleast the time and effort gone into it.

Video games are an interactive art from for those who can see them as such (if that makes sence)

I believe that video games are definitly an art form. Think of how much work and computer animation goes into making a game like halo. All of the characters, enemies, levels, and vehicles have to be desingned.

Yes and no.I suppose you could say "hey look at all the pretty picturea" and those are art or the animation and sure that could be art. But when it comes down to it you could basicly say anything is form of art. Even this board.

Yeah... but if everything is a form of art then it needs context... so a rating system... this board gets like a 2, sorry david... but games get like a 7... and Easter Eggs in games get a 10

Well this board isn't as pretty as I plan it to be, but many things could be considered art. THe art of web design, many websites out there are definitely works of art. I'm pretty sure all Final Fantasy games (newer ones anyway) would be master pieces in the world of art.

FFX had a decent storyline... if you overlook the fact he was pulled into a black void in the sky and woke up in another world... just like FFVIII had a good storyline if you overlook the fact all the major characters knew each other from their childhoods but forgot :\

but FFX is a spectacular game... beautiful in every sence of the word

I dissagree, and heres why. In my opinion 8's storyline was garbage. It was such a cheese corn and corn fest that i would say its the most cheesy corn i've ever seen. Its unrealistic and too rather fairytailish. Idk thats my opinion.

I liked FF8 a lot, my 2ne favorite but I think IceWave meant XIII instead of VIII, which would mean he's talking about FF13, since he's talking about it as if it's not out yet...and FF8 didn't have THAT great of graphics, nothing that would make him question his PC's capabilities...back me up here Icey...
