The following letter was sent a few minutes ago; I was CC'd on it.

Zeality,
Hey! How're you doing? I wanted to drop you an email about two very important pieces of Chrono promotion...

1. Chrono Revival. This is what we're calling the joint effort brewing between the CTNP and the CT Remake Petition. Why? Because Jacob and I feel that the combination of a novel and a new release of Chrono Trigger is the perfect way to revive the Chrono series and the bring the story to new heights. Coupled together, this project represents a booming revival for the Chrono series and what I feel to be the best lead into both a new Chrono game and maybe even a movie. Chiefly, the two of us are working together in the interest of combining resources and ideas for gaining petition signatures for both projects. I think it's going to work out very well.

I know I mentioned this endeavor to you before when it wasn't quite as "official," and, if I recall correctly, you were in support of it. What Jacob and I would like to do is set up a time to meet with you in AIM or through a 3-way call (probably better) to talk about the possibility of the Compendium assisting us in the promotion of this joint effort.

2. If you remember, we had started something of an interview process for the CTNP a little while back, and I was just wanted to see what else you might need from us to get that moving again. I think it would be great if we could get this in while we're in the midst of putting together the Chrono Revival site. Keeping CTNP in the news for a little while and later as a part of Chrono Revival should ultimately be more beneficial to both projects, in my opinion. I'd love to hear any thoughts you may have on this particular promotional challenge.

Thank you very much, and I look forward to hearing from you real soon!
Wayne

OK, let me take each question here, LOL...

1) Who's Wayne? Wayne is the big cheese of the CTNP, like I'm the big cheese of this petition.

2) What's CTNP? Chrono Trigger Novel Petition. Petition to get Square to allow a novel to be sold based on the CT storyline. Not one that you'd think would be as popular as ours, but they get plenty of traffic. The idea is that our sites will merge (but not the petitions) so that we both get the benefits of each other's traffic and hopefully signatures.

3) Who's Zeality? Zeality is the VERY big cheese of Chrono Compendium, the biggest, highest-traffic Chrono Trigger site on the Net. His sponsorship and help really means something.

4) How many CT games are there? Two and a half. Seriously, there's two (Chrono Trigger for SNES and Chrono Cross for Playstation), and then there was another game for Nintendo's old Satellaview called Radical Dreamers. Dreamers came out long before CT or CC, but used parallel storylines to CC, including a band of people (one of them being Kid) searching for the Frozen Flame in Viper Manor. Later when CC came out, someone noticed the parallels (girl named Kid, Frozen Flame, Viper Manor, and even some of the music) and since CC has such a confusing storyline, they used Radical Dreamers to unveil a little extra backstory about Lavos and Schala. (Yes, they're both back in Chrono Cross and in a funny way, they're sort of even in Radical Dreamers.)

5) Any on Xbox? No, although a friend of Nathan's (Nathan being the guy who made our site) has tried to convince me that Microsoft has just picked up the production rights to the Chrono series. The guy swears he knows people in the game industry and I don't doubt that, but he's also a total jerk. So, there MIGHT be a Chrono game on Xbox in the future. But not yet.

Now I DO know that Square has pursued Microsoft to move its "flagship franchises" to Xbox (and hence, likely PC). But I hardly think Chrono Trigger qualifies as a flagship franchise...at least, not in Square's mind at this moment. It likely refers more to Final Fantasy and Mana. They're attempting to revive the Mana series in the same way we're working on Chrono.

There have been rumours of a new Xbox360 title that is a sequel to the CT series. Of course, rumours aren't all that useful. There is no way to be certain, honestly.

If it is though, that'll anger a lot of CT fans... as they statistically own mostly Sony and Nintendo systems. I guess the only way to find out is to wait for news at E3. If the game DOES exist, it'll likely have information about it released there.

Oh, and of course, it is good to see things are still moving. Not a lot of stuff to talk about lately, though that is because most of our part of the job is over.
