Earlie today I was fiddling around in Paint Shop Pro 9, experimenting with different effects on an image for the purpose of creating a new sig. I stumbled upon a really good design after tweaking an image a few times and decided to pursue that course so I could improve it. I finished after a couple hours of making it, losing track of what I was doing after messing up and then making it again. I have to say I'm pretty impressed with it. Not too bad for an amateur. I was thinking about using it as my background, but I'd have to make a couple changes to my layout. So I'm not sure if I'll ever get around to that. Any comments? You can also view the other pictures I have there. It's only 7 total, so it's not a lot.

Actually not really. I was trying to make something neat by messing around with the effects tools and when I first saw that I was like, "hmm" and decided to pursue it further.

I made something like that once in graphic design haha

The difference is mine was black and grey and that instead of an eye, there was a yin yang.

An impressive piece here. The back story definitely gives it an appropriate feeling --after being read. Think it goes without saying that The Dimensional Eye goes with the theme of your layout. Cool shades of blue wrapping around themselves with a few color accents to give the viewer a sense that it has inconsequential imperfections. I kind of feel like I am taking this too seriously.

Well I'm glad this thread got a little bump after so long. I only had a couple replies when i first created it. The effects I used for this include "Swirl" and "Ripple" I can't remember if anything else was used for it, but I do recall using somewhat precise numbers for the effect settings. Somewhat.

billythekidmonster : Yes, I did make that as well. But it's not how you think- I made it by taking a picture. It was done back in 2004 or so. I had a multi-colored LED called a Photon Ravn' Light. You can probably look it up on google, but I don't know where you could buy one now. I was experimenting with pictures of fast-moving lights and was spinning that around my finger in front of the mirror in the bathroom with the doors closed and lights off. That particular one was probably my favorite and has been my avatar for over 7 years at every board I've ever been to. These are some of the others:

Elara : Yep, I think I remember showing off those pictures on Xeogaming back in the day.

I would like to have that picture in my layout, but I can't think of how to set up the tables so that the background is visible. Right now I have it set in place of the image I've been using just for this post, so this is how it looks. You can't really see the center, and if I made the text field more transparent the text would blend more in with the image. Maybe I could get a suggestion from someone on how create a layout that would be able to show off the pic.
