I've actually had that opportunity and used it. It was not worth it, it only caused me more pain and I stopped looking on my own.

If I were to ever have an ex, I'd like to be the kind of person that will allow us to still be friends. Clean break up, upfront about why it wouldn't work out and all; the feelings were not mutual (in that certain way). Checking emails is a bit much in my opinion.

Even if you have strong feelings for someone it simply isn’t productive to invade ones privacy no matter how one may attempt to justify it.

It isn’t worth it… It would likely cause more headaches then solutions and the bottom line (To me at least.) is that there is someone for everyone and by snooping around an ex’s e-mail text or other mediums you are more often then not doing a disservice to yourself. It simply isn’t worth the aggravation.
