To give the term biology a definite meaning it is the study of life and living organisms, which can than be broken down to include structure, function, growth and reproduction cycles, its origin and evolution and the organisms eventual distribution throughout life. Yes it can be broken down as biology itself is too broad a topic to broach and branches include zoology and botany, and can extend further to sub-branches such as microbiology.
