I was looking up something about it for my Zelda Quiz and I kept seeing complaints about how hard it was. What is your opinion on it?

I remember being a bit bothered with the constant adjusting of the Water Level, but the only parts that really annoyed me were the battle with Dark Link and trying to climb the hill that led to the boss. I don't think it was that much worse than any of the other dungeons.

Yeah, I don't think it was that big of a deal...sure it was the climax of challenge in the game, but that's what made it fun.

Fighting Dark Link was fun, the trick to beating him is not to target him with Navi because he will always copy your moves parry. Start swinging your sword a lot when he comes near you the chances of scoring a hit on him will significantly increase.

it friggin sucks one wong place to use a key your dead dark link isnt to bad

It's actually real simple and easy to get used to, It's not all paralleled like in Twilight Princess. You only go through the temple's water changes about 3 times only, not much of a drag

The item though is pointless... That upgrade should've been like an upgrade you can easily buy

Water Temple O What Can I Say? Fun,Not As Hard As Everyone Says Even More Fun When You Can Beat It But Your Friends Can't And You Watch Them Play.Although The Climb Is Really Annoying.

I've always hated water levels in games. They're just overly frustrating for me, sure it's not hard, but it isn't fun for me.

BNuge : The water temple was the most stressful, longest, complicated temple of them all. Especially playing on a keyboard.

Adjusting the water levels was the least of my problems....having to aim for targets with the hook shot using a keyboard is the absolute worst! This temple is my least favorite.

honestly, i was more stuck on the spirit and ghost temple on my first playthrough way back when... but in ocarina of time most of the areas were so pointless

I'm going to be completely honest and admit that I always used a guide for it. It frustrated me, and I wasn't in the mood for spending hours in one temple, so... I just used a walkthrough :p

I also use guides ^^ ! First time i played OoT i got stuck in the water temple...after years i start playing with a guide and it worked out perfectly and i was happy :-)

I didn't use any guides or anything, I just got through. It was a hard puzzle, but puzzles are my thing. That's why Assassins Creed and Zelda are among my favorites.

The Water Temple certainly isn't my favorite place, I like the Fire Temple.

water temple isn't hard is just...long and boring I guess.Every temple had something that is the theme of it like water temple is puzzling thats why i like spirit temple and shadow temple they have much more fighting like stalfos but shadow had wallmasters

I loathed that hill. That hill is evil. EVIL. It took me two of my bottled fairies just to get to the boss the first time I played it. Adjusting the water levels was annoying, too.

I'm actually on Water Temple right now! Man, the hookshot's aim with the keyboard SUCKS. I'm still at the early part of the Temple, I already have the water level down by one... 2 more to go, I guess. I found the switching of Kokiri Boots to Iron Boots repeatedly to be greatly annoying, since the ROM game on here slows up each time I press start (spacebar), and while it is loading for the menu to come up, the game freezes for at least 10 to 20 seconds.

I recently replayed the temple in the RGR and it wasn't nearly as bad as I remember. You just scour all the rooms at a particular water level, adjust the level and scour again. Repeat that a few times and you'll have the major item and the boss key. The worst part is the hill, but it's not as bad if you start from one of the sides instead of trying to go up the middle.

Guess what? I found a way to make aiming a lot easier so I made a thread about it and attached it to the game's page in the RGR. I can almost guarantee that you will need it later. There's a part where you have to shoot an eye, then look up quickly to hit a target with the hookshot. Without my trick, it's nearly impossible (you need a lot of luck). Check this thread:

I just hate trying to play through it in the RGR. There, because of some odd problem, it takes like 20 seconds for my menu to open, so switching boots takes forever. Plus, the lack of an analog stick makes aiming things really hard, too. And as for the battle with dark link, well, don't even make me start in on it. That was hard enough on the actual N64 itself!

haha i didnt actually play the water temple my brother did he was so funny he did the fire temple and the water temple first instead of the spirit temple haha anyway i think it wouldnt be too hard

it was one of the harder ones i hate the end were u have too climb up that wall with the spike things to get to the boss i always get hit by them and it gets annoying

crazycatpup : OMG, LOL. That was actually easy for me! All I had to do is time myself, and make a mad dash up on the side walls. NEVER run up in the middle, that doesn't work at all.

It was a hard temple, but it's not the hardest. I've seen harder dungeons. The hardest dungeon is Juba-Juba's Belly in Oracle of Ages. This thing would eat OoT's Water Dungeon for a light snack!

Ugh, don't remind me. It gave me enough problems with an actual controller, its going to be the death of me on a keyboard.

I hate, hate, hate, hate, hated the water temple.

If there's anything like 10 or 11 year old me hated more than anything, it was getting lost in the water temple.

Now that I'm older it's not as big a problem, but it's still very confusing. When a game makes a child stumped for complexity over difficulty, it should go as a note, do not do this again.

I really hated the Water of all the temples in the games that one was so annoying

Anywho, I found out why people hate it. There's a point in the Temple where you have one key and two possible doors to open. If you pick the wrong door, you have to restart the game because there's no possible way to complete the dungeon.

BNuge : I don't think that you can get stuck in the water temple like that.

There are some frustrating sections (the hookshot platforms on the waterfalls comes to mind), and the layout probably confuses some people. Plus, you really have to look hard to find all the keys. there is one for every door, but they are spread throughout the temple in tricky places. I never really had a problem with the Water Temple, though. It was always quite easy to me.

To be honest, I didn't find the Water Temple to be difficult at all. In fact, the only dungeon in a Zelda game that puzzled me was the first palace in Zelda 2.

The biggest flaw in most games is the water level. This game is NO exception. 'Nuff said.

I just beat it yesterday, I spent all day working on beating it and it was fun. It wasn't as frustrating or difficult as everybody says, but it has some tough moments. Now I'm in the well.

i enter the water temple first thing I find is zora under water level and tells link to follow her poof zora is vanished without the trace in water temple at first I don't know what to do next I pause the game start figure it out how to solve the puzzle i try go find the hook for complete and face mini boss dark link from adventures of link he's back for revenge against link slow motion dark link gets attack link low sword stop dark link counter slash at link high slash is always work from preventing stop motion next is find the keys in order to complete the puzzle doors raise the water level to meet the boss morph wait until that thing attacks you counter by useing jumping slash on the head it's the weak point i forgot to mention  morph's weak points ice arrow either use ice arrow or slash with your sword and that's it water temple is hard level not extremely hard just use your head.

WHAT DO I THINK ABOUT IT!?!?!? It is the most difficult dungeon I have ever played in my entire life. This resulted in 2 broken N64 controllers due to its high difficulty. So you tell me what I think about it.

Reminds me of the Final Palace in Zelda 2.

I wish that it had more enemies.

Dark Link was done well though.

OMG, The water temple, since I was a child, this level has been of my childhood! Never have I been so annoyed be a level that I completely explode out of frustration!

The Water Temple has always seemed like the most complicated dungeon to get through.. Perhaps because of all the puzzles, and water adjustments. I remember dreading the Water Temple every time I would reach it in that game. All in all, it's a cornerstone of the Zelda experience, but still.. Often times I just feel too lazy for it, haha.

PhoenixPhyre : I felt great Bay temple was more of an enjoyable challenge, the water temple isn't at all hard it's just annoying having to keep changing the water levels.

UFC : I actually got through Great Bay rather easily, though I will agree that there are a lot of intricacies to watch out for, or you will get lost XD I also had a guide book to help me out, so that was nice. But yeah, if it wasn't such a pain to get back to the right locations to switch the water levels in OoT, it might not have peeved me so much.
