I've only made food with alcohol once - Spaghetti sauce with red wine. I love red wine in spaghetti sauce, but we never have it on hand, unfortunately.

I actually prefer cooking with juice to cooking with alcohol, though my experiences with both are limited. For example, using apple juice or white grape and peach juice instead of white wine. Annette makes a great Alfredo sauce using apple juice. Her spaghetti sauce is good too, but I don't get to eat it very often.

Elara : Pretty sure any red wine will do, but I'm not an expert.
I add only about 1/3 of a cup for a batch that makes 10 servings of sauce.

I am not much of a cook and I really do not cook that often, but I have seen my parents use alcohol in their cooking before, I think they have used it on turkey, but I do not really remember.

i love cookin with alcohol here r some uses...
beer-for my carne asada marinade and for my onion rings also white wine-for deglazing and tomato sauces for pastas. red wine- also for deglazing and for steaks marinades. and i know that it has been said but u cant drunk off anyhing infused with alcohol it gets vaporized from the heat. also if u want to drink a glass of wine with food here is what i suggest... red wine-good with steaks,chicken white wine-good with fish,pastas,chicken,veggies. if u r having a dinner that has some bitterness to it accompany it with a sweet type of wine and vice versa |

No, I have never cooked with alcohol. I use other things to marinate my steaks.

well i sometimes use wine in some recipes ive seen ifim feeling cheffy and after watching epicmealtime if im home alone and i got friends round I'd make bacon or steak and w/e and and a bit of jack daniels, or try my best to follow epic meal tiem with what meat i have :p

I never really cooked with alcohol my mom usually makes me food not alcohol type food since I'm too young to have alcohol well not old enough to have alcohol I guess.
