Personally I think people should be able to choose if they use protection or birth control. I mean there are already too many people having children too young and thus aren't able to properly care for their child.

I personally use none latex condoms and spermicide, does wonders made it to 21 childless so far *Knocks on wood* but the pill seems to be the choice for girls or the depo shot

I really dislike condoms. I have sensitive skin and they don't help the situation at all. So I try to avoid using them as much as possible.

I use Ortho Evra, AKA "the patch". I can't remember to take a pill every day, so it works for me since it's only a weekly application. However, I'd like to switch to a non-hormonal IUD because I don't like the idea of synthetic chemicals constantly being in my body and controlling my feelings/mood. I'd prefer a mechanical method. However my doctor has an age limit on IUDs, so for now I'm stuck using hormonal methods.

I used to use the Depo Shot, and all I have to say is that if you use it or know someone that does, stop now. After about two years, it really screws up your system, I mean hard core screw up. I have major problems now with menorrhagia and every single day I wish I had not started on Depo.

A good friend of mine was on the depo shot for roughly 5 years, and when she was married and ready to have a child she stopped taking it. But it messed her up and she was unable to have a child .(not sure  exactly what got messed up as I can't remember ) She got lucky and after an exteneded period of time she was able to have a child, and now does have a young daughter.

Moral of the story, make sure you are aware of all the side effects of birth control.

I'm going to go to an obgyn instead of a regular doctor and see if they have any ideas. Though I will NOT be getting any shots, I don't like them and if I react badly to all kinds of hormones, then it would be in my system for months. It was awful after a month and a half; I don't even want to think about three....
