In my opinion, the worst Virus every developed is the Norton AntiVIRUS
I was tricked into buying and installing the deadly thread months ago, and I've only had problems. I have to disable the damn program in order to use some of my programs, it slows down my computer, gives me errors all the time, makes my computer take longer to start up and shutdown... I've never had a virus do this much damage
It doesn't even do a great job at getting rid of virus's either...usually it tells me the virus's I have, but it's usually unable to get rid of them.

Anyways, everyone else's opinion on Nortan Antivirus, and better antivirus programs out there?

AVG Free edition should be fine for anyone. Norton/Mcafee whatever its all usually crap. I haven't had a virus scanner in a long time due to the fact I dont need one, most just suck up system resources anyways.

yeah, norton suck @$$ and i'm not sure bout mcafee, i have it and i have no problems with it, but i like AVG free edition the most, and if i have to buy one i think i whould buy norman anti-virus, that is the best in the world last time i looked at the stats.
O well, i think you should just se what you want, I use AVG now, i just like it more.

Nice thought david I use ANTIVIR guard. There isn't much difference in the free ones. They have all the old virus and have to be updated to catch the new ones... The only difference is the system resources, and how annoying they are...

Nortan Suk.. They ownzed my puta... Macffe suks aswell, they ownzed me.. i pawnzed them both, when i uninstalled them

AVG sux also, it reports a virus , that dosnt exist.. and its very annoying.. and its only there wif the free edition, and only happens to some people.

I use avast antivirus, i can set it for my screen saver, so when my screen saver comes on, its actually scanning for viruses. I left it on all nite, and it scanned half a million files, cos it loops... So thats my computer, gone throu, like... 5 times or somthing... its alot of files...

Anyone gotten a malicious virus? i know i have... stupid Win32... i have 5 CDs with infected programs on it... even my snes and gba emulators weren't spared

Still, i say nortan and macffe suk!, i got less viruses wifout antivirus, infact, i only got adaware se, and i dont got any viruses... (yes i do have a virus protector aswell, havnt had anything for a while)

You also have an internet connection of 28k, not even a Virus would put up with that, lol.

You know, a skilled hacker can get by Nortan Antivirus and many other kinds of antivirus software with relative ease. The usual case is that the person would just disable the antivirus software, and then proceed to screw around with the system. In other words... they won't protect you if a person REALLY wants to mess up your computer.

I don't know about the worlds WORST virus, but an old acquantaince I once knew, and who was more skilled than me at the time, had access to a rather powerful virus. I believe it was called "Quake". I'm not sure on the specifics, as I never saw it in action, but according to his claims... it would basically overclock your computer to the point in which it would severely overheat... thus setting your computer aflame. Not only will it destroy your computer, but in severe cases... it could destroy your house... or even you. He was a kind of shady guy... and I became even more wierded out by the guy after I noticed that he began hacking in to various websites. To be honest, I'll never know if it was the truth, but if it was... that'd be one hell of a virus to catch.

I HATE how everyone's like,

No it's not.... It's slow and it takes a million years for it to MISS all of the viruses on its crappy scanners..
