this thread is about if you had a chance to rebuilt earth what would
you change here's a few things I would change -

there would be no higher class or lower class everyone is equal
3 day weekend would be nice (more fun less work)
no racism ever (there would have been hardly any wars)
and lastly I would love MASSIVE trees that reach the sky
(how cool would that be)

"no racism ever (there would have been hardly any wars)" So, which race would you keep? White, black, asian, hispanic? Racism will always exist if there are races...

Me personally.... I wouldn't change much. Anything I changed would only create new problems. Maybe the only thing I could change and see more benefit than loss would be to create a desire for the betterment of everyone. I figure if we are looking out for what's best for everyone and what's best for ourselves then that should improve everyone.... none of this "make everyone equal" junk.

Let's see...I would create fruits that tasted like chocolate along w/ chocolate rivers and the ability to keep fit forever. A six day weekend (and a holiday at the 7th day, since it's the one God took a rest). And since we need more green on the world everyone would be green like Martians and would have that charming Asian eyes

Well... I dunno.

I would get rid of the money system and go back to bartering. That way there would be no inflammation or anything, and people would have to work hard to get what they want. It'd make people better, also.

i would make it so 911 never happened so that millions of people wouldn't have died and maybe people wouldn't hate muslims as much

geeogree : Well actually, I came across a study that said that even know on average Europeans work less than Americans, they are far more productive with their time and generally less stressed out. Having a 3 day weekend could potentially work (like how at least one school in South Dakota has only 4 days of school, just more hours per day).

yeah, but 3 days a week? I don't think so.... I could see a 30-35 hour work week being slightly more productive.... but only 3 days... that's iffy at best.

geeogree : I don't know how it is in Canada, but, a lot of people that I know spend much of the time at their job just twiddling their thumbs looking for work to do or just taking up space. I know when I "worked" I spent a lot of time just not doing anything. I needed to type up all of this information into the computer so that there would be an electronic record of it, but, I spent so much time doing it that I'm surprised that she didn't just ask me if I was screwing around or something. I never actually finished. Point is, it's not just the hours spent at work, it's how many hours you spend working.

Oh and to keep this thread on topic, I would make it so that no one could have more than two children. Trust me, the lack of overpopulation would be its own reward.

but 2 kids isn't enough to actually replenish the population.... you'd have to set the max at 3 or humanity would die off....

geeogree : Actually it is. The two children would replace the parents. The population would stabilize and everything would be fine. You would be right in that this would not be very good if we were starting from scratch, however, since there's already 6.5 billion+ of us, it would be fine.

Also, I would make it so that there would be no guns, just knives and stuff.

I think that what geeogree meant is that racism will exist as long as there are humans. It's not that each and every person in the world is racist, but as long as there are different races there will always be those who think that they are better than the others simply because the others are somehow different. So, according to this point of view, the only possible way to end racism is having a single race instead of multiples ones, making you having to choose one amongst all

And I like the 3 day weekend idea. That would be very nice

Seriously though, I like the idea of massive trees. Personally though, about the only thing I would change is more natural/biological answers to problems (ie bacteria that break down radioactive/toxic sludge, etc. I know some already exist, but on larger and friendlier scale). Plus, i would arm all the animals. Next time Bubba goes hunting for the sole purpose of putting antlers on his wall he's going to be in for one heck of surprise..

I would be king for a weekend every year. their would be health beautiful humans every were eating great tasting health food! Every one could have the newest hardware and software for pc or mac free! every one would have access to making music with the best instruments! we could have holodecks! Space ships to trail the galaxies as well as star gates to go to other worlds that are inhabitable for us! Every one would have a girl/boy friend that's just what they like she/he would end up being their spouse when ready! every one could learn about what they want to learn about aside from fundamentals witch would be mandatory but fun! i would live in a modern castle with a mote and my friends would play on my servers their, we could have a huge holodeck to simulate war and racing or whatever we wanted! and so we would keep enjoying things and not get board we would go and help other people achieve their dreams kinda like work sept your not the boss the person your helping achieve the dream is! every one would help each other in a orderly and far fashion and things would be way cool. we could even start developing how to use 100% of are minds like being psychic an or have ability like telekinesis... we would also spend time in this school developing are psychic ability that we excel at!...

Cyprian : I never said to ostracize family members lol. No one is getting cut. I simply meant that everyone should from this point forward just have two kids (each of the 11 can have two children each). Over time, the number of people will stabilize instead of just going through the roof as it is now (I believe by 2050 that the population will be projected to be around 15 billion, that's over double the amount of people on Earth right now). It's not good to have so many people in the world. As technology improves and corporations become more efficient, there will be less jobs for humans available and just more robots doing everything. With so much money in circulation, the value of currency will be so low. Where will we find room for all of these people? How many cars must be made? I think that many of us see the world much bigger than it really is. Little good can come from more people.
