Basically means being attracted to a female isn't an instinct to me as being attracted to a male, by just mere looks anyways.

I can love a person for who they are, but my mammal instinct as a human doesn't go off with any female by itself. It does however with a male.

I would have to say straight, and I'll confess it is frustrating in a sense, due to males and females working on different wavelengths at times. As far as other sexual orientations goes, I'm perfectly fine with them and I wouldn't think any less of anyone...people be people. 

Well I tried to be lesbian but that was quickly put out when I realized I am 100% not atracted to girls.  I love looking at guys and I have a few guy celebs I drool over.  Now I don't hate gay/lesbians/bi people I don't mind them at all.  I once dated a gay guy to help him disguise the fact he was gay.  So on dates I had 2 guys with me lol.  I got some kissing and hugging action from both guys.  And eye candy too!  It was also cool because they were both singers~~

i'm %100 straight and i try my best to be nice to Bi gay ect. but as long as they are not to open about it

I haven't checked this thread in a while, but I'm always happy to see people's responses. I do have something new to add to this thread.

Someone I know is bi. He found out he was bi when he noticed he already knew he was attracted to girls, but was also having actual feelings for guys. He has actually been in a few relationships. Some were with guys, while others were with girls. He asked me how I found out I was gay. There was really nothing to it for me. It's not exactly something I "found out" about. It was always there for me.

I think I get what you mean. Guys who are straight are naturally attracted to women. Guys who are gay are naturally attracted to men. Attraction is just instinctive.

I'm not sure if I'm right or not, but I think I know what he means. Personally, I'm not attracted to girls. I would have to make a point of trying to be attracted to one (even though it wouldn't work ). Basically, it would take a lot of effort on my part. It takes a lot less effort to generate the same amount of attraction towards a guy. Make sense?

I'm not very good explaining any type of feelings or instincts in words, but I do know for a fact that being attracted to my own gender is simply an instinct to me.


Which is why I tend to get so upset when people like to think homosexuality is a type of disease or choice. Many could argue phobias are a disease, and therefore homosexuality is as well, but a phobia is actually just the brain skipping all the steps and automatically inducing fear at the object/situation, and thus mimicing an instinct, but it's more like a reaction, which can be cured.

Homosexuality can't be a reaction, because I don't get attracted to every single male I see. Unlike a phobia with bugs, I react to every single insect I see with emotional fear.

I'm very straight. Personally, no hatred against gays or bis but I do tend be uncomfortable when around them, no offense. Anyone doesn't like it oh well, but that's my natural reaction.

If you are so secure in your sexuality, why are you nervous around gay men? They don't hit on straight guys. Or is it that you fear being thought of as gay by association and that is what makes you uncomfortable?

I bring this up because there is a guy like this at my work, and he is so "uncomfortable" around our gay coworker that he does whatever he can not to bag for him. The coworker tries not to be offended by it, but it actually is offensive. He's not a leper, he's just another human being.

Maybe I'm interpreting them wrong, but I think I actually get what they're saying. I'm gay, but I used to feel very uncomfortable around gay guys (not so much around lesbians, I don't know why). It's not a feeling I choose. It's just something inside of me that I have no control over. I'd rather not have it, but it's not like something I can get rid of.

Although they are different cases, I guess I could compare it to a built in phobia. I'm dead scared of bees. I wish I wasn't, but it's a feeling deep inside of me that I have no control over. I can tolerate being around a bee for about 30 seconds, then my fear forces me to run away. I'd rather not do it, but I don't have enough control over it to do otherwise.

Elara : I can't say. I guess its just radical personality difference. I suppose enhanced by any circumstance at the time, such as wearing religious wear because I know lots of gays aren't liking Christians. Or maybe its the agenda that I'm an opponent of. I don't know, I just feel weird around which the feeling maybe made stronger because of any said examples.

Hoochman : By "agenda," are you referring to the political movements toward same-sex marriage?

Hoochman : I suppose I can understand that. However, I do hope that you wouldn't let that get in the way of a friendship if you ever met a gay guy that wasn't bothered by the Christian thing (which is a lot of them, actually) and was otherwise cool.
