Well, cool, I'll be the first to post here.

Okay, I've got one. Ever since 6th grade, I've been doing math a grade ahead of me, as math is my strong point. However, I've been getting B-'s and C's in that class. It's been bugging me that I'm not doing well, should I go back to an easier grade level or stick to where I am to seem smart? I'll seem stupid if I go back to my grade expectations.

So I have a lot of make-up work to do for English class. However, I already have a B (is going to be an A soon) because of getting perfect scores on my recent projects (they raised my grade from an F to a B), yet my parents still want me to do it. What do you think?

so, there is this girl I know that just got a new haircut and she looks super hot now.... do you think I should go for her? We have a lot in common and I think we would get along really well and stuff....

the_casualty : I wonder what it is that is peventing you from getting the
A grades you so believe you so rightly deserve for being so talented at Math. Perhaps it is being separated from your peers in the grade below you that is bothering you and you would prefer to be with them. I also wonder if it is the case that as you are in the year ahead your advanced abilty in Math for your age is being hidden/ignored amongst older and therefore as talented students. By returning to your old class you may be fulfilling an unconscious desire to be the big fish in a little pond again and regain the respect and amazement,adoration and appreciation of the younger kids around you and your teacher. In truth you already know the answer yourself, the younger class would be too easy for you and you would get bored really quickly if you were back in your old class, whereas in the adcanced one with a bit more focus you could be easily back on track for perfect scores which would cause you I suspect more happiness in the long run.

vizwiz123 : I think that you have been working extremly hard and am proud of you for getting your grade F to a B, well done! It now seems you are heading towards an A and you know with a a bit of extra work you could do it 'soon' It also seems like you are under a lot of pressure from your parents to do the make-up work, I wonder if this was the case when you fell behind before? You also seem to be in disagrement with your parents about the exact amount of work you need to do, are they aware of how hard you have been working recently? Parents can be very over demanding in projecting their own needs for perfection onto their children, it can make a child feel worthlss if they don't meet an expectation that does not belong to them and in truth is somebody elses'. Are your parents reasonable, can you talk to them too about this, it seems more is at play in your general realtionship with them that just your homework. But we at Vizzed are proud of you, you are a great member and work really hard here, perhaps because it is more in keeping with who and what you really want to do in life, but I am sure, although I don't know if it is the case that you actually might like English, but is this your like or are you liking it for your parents?

hello, I guess its good to talk about tings i suppose its easier on the web.
I was recently dumped out of the blue by my girlfriend of almost two years and I became pretty attached at the hip to her and yet I'm more mad than anything and I'm starting to feel a bit bummed but i know ill get over it and I'm sure it was for the best

I appreciate your honesty and courage to come onto this forum and share something something so personal with us. I am encouraged by your reply however, and can see that you have already done a lot of work by yourself in overcoming this event in your life. It is important to recognise your feelings and be in touch with them you have every right to feel mad and a bit bummed and you should allow yourself these emotions as this is painful for you. The fact that the relationship may not have been for the best is a factual thing and may well be true, but facts don't always stop the pain, not in my case anyway, let me share something if I may, as I am still 'attached' to a guy who would not let me leave the house, eventually I did and went out with friends, and he left me, a total control freak.

So take care of yourself and yes, you will get over it eventually it may well take time, but give yourself that, try not to pressurise yourself, I am so happt that you have thought about things you can do to make yourself happy and 'play more games' for example which are fantastic or else I would not be here or the thousands of other users, but please allow yourself time to greave properly and don't rush into any new relationships, unless you want to, before you allow yourself to heal unless you are sure that this person is not just 'on the rebound' and inside you are still hurt.

marioisawesome : I am sorry that your nephews parents are 'closed' to any discussions that you feel are important to have with their child about sex. The best thing I suggest you can do is talk to the parents and tell them exactly what you have told me and guage their reactions. I do not know the wider aspect of your relationship with his parents, but I sense that there is some tension in the relationship you have with his parents that makes it difficult for not only them to talk to their son about sex but also difficulty with having an adult discussion with you about it too.

Yes the child is naturally curious and has every right to enquire about such things, and his parents are doing what they thing best with regards to such information, this may not make it right or wrong, but I sense also that this may not be the only thing at play.

marioisawesome : I know that Totts already spoke on your question, but if you don't mind, I'd like to toss in my 2c as a parent. I agree with your stance that this is something that they should talk to your nephew about, but I find it very odd that a three-year-old is asking about sex - assuming that he's using that word. Even if your relationship with his parents isn't such that you can have a discussion with them about what to tell him, I'd recommend at least asking them why he keeps asking about it.
