I switched a laser printer late last year. Honestly to me inkjet carts are just too expensive for the amount of pages they print.  Add in the fact they dry out as well.

I have had the same toner thing since I got my printer.  In that time I've printed nearly 400 pages and it's still probably only 1/3 of the way through. I expect it to last 800 to 1500 pages.  After that I will have to pay $25 to $50 for one that prints around 2,600 pages.

You're lucky if you get 300 pages from ink cartridges. I don't really have a need for color printing.

I have a color printer. I don't use it though since it is very old and connected to a dinosaur of a computer that freezes every time you open up something to print. So I just print things that I need printed at school. Which is B&W.

You buy a pen for $0.50, it's ink enclosed in plastic.

You buy a ink cartridge for $45.75, it's ink enclosed in plastic...

All people saying they don't use them, really should consider laser printers. Maybe a bit more expensive to begin with, but your toner won't dry out like inkjets do.

I have both. I have a photo printer mostly for printing photos, cards, wall decorations, various craft items, and, well, things that need to be in color; everything else, which is most things, run through the laser printer I bought for $50 six years ago and haven't needed to change the toner yet.

Laser printers are awesome, even low-end ones.

I use a color printer. Usually, we don't have any color ink, so we could do only black and white until recently. I often forget that we now have colored ink, so it makes me feel kinda awkward when I remember this.

It's not actually mine, it belongs to my roommate, but I have a color printer. It's incredibly useful for when I print out snippets of code if I have an open-note computer science exam, because of the syntax coloring. It even has a scanner, which was incredibly useful while it worked. I'm not sure why it's not working anymore, but it's kinda disappointing.

I have a color AND black and white printer/scanner/copier. It's pretty nice and only cost me about $50. The only problem is the GNU/Linux drivers for it just don't work, but that's okay, I never really have anything to print that can't be printed from Windows.

MichaelVash7886 : I'd like to get a laser printer, because I rarely print in color, but I like having the option to do so, because occasionally I have something I want colorized. You understand, don't you?
